Universal Orlando Resort is full of hidden gems, but one of our favorite nighttime spots on property is Bar 17 Bistro. The menu has a wide variety of drinks, so we decided to give a few of them a try.
This rooftop bar is on the 17th floor of Universal’s Aventura Hotel and offers food, drinks, and incredible views. This location has tons of seating and is breathtaking at sunset. It’s very casual and perfect for a night of lounging and hanging out with friends.
Bar 17 Bistro
As you can see, there is quite a variety of drinks on the menu, from cocktails to wine, beer, and hard seltzer.
There are also light bites available, including signature baos, small plates, and house specialties.
17 Apples – $14
Maker’s Mark Bourbon, rosemary infused apple juice, lemon juice, brown sugar simple syrup
If you like a strong drink that’s on the sweeter side, the 17 Apples is for you.
The apple and lemon flavors dominate this drink and pair well with the bourbon. It is very sweet, but the apple is very inviting.
Foggy Sunrise – $15
Patron Silver Tequila, lemon juice, pineapple juice, creme de coconut, grapefruit juice
This smooth and creamy drink is the perfect way to relax and enjoy the view. The pineapple and grapefruit juice add a tart twist that is complimented by the creme de coconut.
If you like pina colada, the Foggy Sunrise drink is a fun twist worth trying. This is a little on the heavier side and perfect for sipping.
Down Thyme – $14
Hendrick’s Gin, Peach Schnapps, Lavender Syrup, Lemon Juice, Brown Sugar Simple Syrup
This was easily one of our top choices from the menu here at Bar 17 Bistro. Crisp and refreshing, the Down Thyme is the perfect option on a hot day.
It’s not quite like lemonade, but the lemon juice and simple syrup create a sweet lemon base that isn’t too tart. This drink is so smooth and delicious. Even if you aren’t typically a fan of gin, this drink might change your mind.
Lavender Liftoff – $13
Aviation American Gin, Lavender Simple Syrup, Violet Syrup, Sprite
This drink looks beautiful and has a strong floral taste. Unfortunately, we felt it tasted a bit like perfume and we couldn’t get through more than a couple of small sips. The lavender and violet are way too overpowering, so we recommend skipping this one.
Stormy on 17 – $15
St. Elder Elderflower Liqueur, Bianco Vermouth, Myer’s Rum, Lime Juice, Ginger Beer, Cucumber Slices
Our favorite drink from this menu has to be the Stormy on 17. After multiple visits, this drink remains consistently good. The rum and ginger beer pair together perfectly. The addition of the elderflower and cucumber makes the drink refreshing as well as strong.
Bar 17 Bistro is a prime spot at sunset. The views of Orlando can’t be beaten. If you haven’t been to Bar 17 Bistro at Universal’s Aventura Hotel, make sure you check it out on your next visit to the Universal Orlando Resort.
