If you are planning a Walt Disney World vacation in early 2024, you may not be able to ride one of the world’s fastest “super stretch” limousines. One of the most popular attractions at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is closing in January for scheduled maintenance, and it is unknown at this time how long it will be down. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith is on the park calendar through January 7th, 2024, and then is listed as unavailable starting January 8th. The calendar lists the attraction as unavailable through at least the end of February of 2024.
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Issues
The thrilling roller coaster was closed for extended refurbishment in early 2023, closing in February and not reopening until May 26th. During its 2023 closure, rumors swirled of a re-theme or major changes, or even the replacement of Aerosmith, but those rumors did not come to fruition. Instead, the ride reopened unchanged, save some missing signed artwork in the ride’s exit hallway.
The complicated launch system has been the cause of extensive maintenance in the past, but it is unknown if this refurbishment is intended to address this, or if the aging ride is simply in need of more and more attention each year.
