Reports indicate that Universal Orlando Resort will be retiring paper guide maps starting on January 1, 2024, requiring guests to use the resort’s mobile app to navigate.
Universal Studios Hollywood would likely cease distributing paper maps at the same time.
Universal has already been pushing guests to use the app instead of paper maps, which are currently available to pick up at the front of theme parks. Take a look inside a paper Universal Orlando Resort map.
Though the maps are convenient, they do create lots of waste and large companies have been striving to be more environmentally-friendly. That said, not everyone has a smartphone to use the mobile app.
This is still a rumor and has not been confirmed. Stay tuned to Universal Parks News Today for updates.
