If you’re heading to Disney World for the holidays, we have an important heads-up about an under-the-radar date!
The holiday season is a notoriously busy time in the Disney parks. And the weeks of Christmas and New Year’s Day tend to be especially crowded. But even though you might expect the holiday dates themselves to be super busy, there’s another sneakier date that we also expect the parks to be PACKED!
In addition to date-based tickets Disney World also offers Annual Passes for guests that plan to visit more often throughout the year.
There are four different tiers of Annual Passes available — the Disney Incredi-Pass, the Disney Sorcerer Pass (available to DVC Members and Florida residents only), the Disney Pirate Pass (Florida residents only), and the Disney Pixie Dust Pass (Florida residents only).
All of the Annual Pass tiers except for the Disney Incredi-Pass are subject to blockout dates on select days during peak and holiday seasons. And this year, December 19th is the last day that Sorcerer Pass, Pirate Pass, and Pixie Dust Pass holders can visit the parks before a blockout period of two weeks starts.
Since December 19th is the last day that three of the four Annual Pass tiers can visit the parks for a few weeks, we expect them to be extra crowded with Passholders getting in a final visit for the holiday season!
The blockout lasts from December 20th-January 3rd for Sorcerer Passes and December 20th-January 4th for Pirate Passes and Pixie Dust Passes.
If you’re heading to Disney World in the next few days, be sure to plan for a potential crowd spike on December 19th with some Annual Passholders heading out for their final trip of 2023!
