So it’s no secret that Disney World will ALWAYS be changing, and that’s part of why we love visiting so much.
Just this year alone, we welcomed some new attractions, saw a hotel close forever, got to eat in a brand new restaurant, and more! Well, things are about to change even more at Disney World hotels and — dare we say — these are some good changes! So let’s see what we can look forward to!
New Rooms and Upgrades
Many of Disney World’s hotels are getting new rooms, and although that means that some of these hotels are currently under construction, you’ll have new rooms to look forward to soon. Over at Disney’s Boardwalk Inn, rooms are getting a big upgrade. Rooms at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort are also being upgraded with a Mary Poppins theme. Other hotels getting room upgrades include Disney’s Beach Club Resort and Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort.
Not only that, but an entirely new Disney Vacation Club (DVC) villa is being built at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, and Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort will get some redesigned DVC cabins. Disney’s Boardwalk Inn and Grand Floridian also recently got lobby refreshes. Three restaurants have also received makeovers at the Grand Floridian: Narcoosee’s, Citricos, and Victoria & Albert’s Restaurant.

“Hey, Disney!”
Okay, so we know not EVERYONE is a big fan of Hey, Disney, but it’s getting rolled out to more hotels throughout Disney World. However, the Hey, Disney AI assistant on Amazon Alexa devices in hotel rooms is a game changer. Basically, “Hey, Disney!” will help you with anything you might need during your stay. Need extra towels? No problem. Need information about park hours? The assistant has got your back. If you’ve ever used a voice assistant at home or on your phone, you’ll know how helpful it can be.
However, if you don’t want a device that is “always listening,” you do have the option of disabling it during your stay. But we think it’s one of the most helpful features Disney has ever added to hotel rooms.

New Restaurants
Okay, we saved the BEST for last because new restaurants are coming to Disney World hotels. If anything gets us excited, it’s new food! Disney’s Boardwalk is not getting just one new restaurant, but TWO, and one is already pretty famous in Disneyland. If you’ve ever heard of the Pickle Corn Dog, you’ve heard of Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs — well, a Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs location is coming to Disney’s Boardwalk WITH some new food.
That’s not all, though. Disney’s Boardwalk is also getting The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers, which will be both a table service restaurant that will also have an afternoon tea service, as well as a spot to pick up a delicious pastry to go. Um…yeah, we’re excited about this one, too!
Both of these new restaurants are also good news for anyone staying at a Skyliner hotel because they have easy access to the Boardwalk.
That new DVC villa being built at Disney’s Polynesian Village is supposed to have new dining options, too, although Disney hasn’t confirmed any new restaurants coming to the Polynesian. But we’ll be keeping an eye out for more details!
