Disney Rehires Bob Chapek’s Son, Brian Chapek
Brian Chapek left Disney shortly after Bob Chapek became the company’s CEO, although Brian continued to act as a producer for Marvel Studios.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the SEC filing states they “terminated the contract and re-hired Mr. [Brian] Chapek as an employee” in June 2023.
Brian’s father was fired as CEO of The Walt Disney Company in November 2022 and Bob Iger was brought out of retirement to return to the position.
Brian Chapek was an associate producer of “Thor: Ragnarok,” a co-producer of “Black Widow,” and an executive producer of “Thor: Love and Thunder.” He’s also an executive producer of the upcoming “Thunderbolts.”
The filing also included the fiscal 2023 salaries of Bob Chapek and Bob Iger, revealed Disney’s Board of Directors nominees, and stated the company has “intensified its focus and adjusted its approach to CEO succession planning.”
Bob Chapek was recently appointed to his first major role following his firing from Disney.
