Have you ever been to Disney World when the CHEERLEADERS are there?

Huge cheerleading competitions are held at Disney World annually … we’re talking ginormous events, and thousands of cheerleaders running around the parks and hotels. It’s BIG FUN … for the cheer teams. But it may not seem quite as exciting if the hotel you chose for your trip is taken over by cheer practice in the common areas or cheerleaders walking the halls in groups late at night or early in the morning.

Now, this is NO shade on cheerleaders! I was a high school cheerleaders myself — albeit at a tiny school for math nerds known for its chess team not its athletics, but hey, I earned that letter on my sweater! The U.S. All-Star Federation and the International All-Star Federation come together to hold The Cheerleading Worlds at ESPN Wide World of Sports each spring.

In 2024, this competition is being held April 26th through 29th. And that means, there will be LOTS of cheerleaders staying at Disney World hotels — particularly the value resorts:

• All-Star Movies
• All-Star Music
• All-Star Sports
• Pop Century

So, if you’re planning a visit during this time and you can avoid these hotels, we would recommend it! Otherwise, you may want to put in a request with your resort to be placed in a room away from large groups if at all possible. Rooms facing courtyards and pools might also be less desirable than at other times of the year!

And if you’re planning ahead for future years, here’s a look at the dates of upcoming cheer competitions at Disney World:

• April 25th to 28th, 2025
• April 24th to 27th, 2026
• April 23rd to 26th, 2027
• April 21st to 24th, 2028
• April 27th to 30th, 2029
