Are you planning a trip to Disney World in 2024?
You’re probably trying to work up your budget if you are, and that might include the price of Genie+ (which is hard to predict because of its surge pricing). You might even have some rides on your priority list that you’re willing to pay EXTRA for with the Individual Lightning Lane. But which rides will even have Individual Lightning Lane in 2024? Here’s what we know.
Okay, first, we’re going to break down how Lightning Lanes work. Basically, if you want to skip the standby lines of rides and go in the shorter Lightning Lanes, you’ll need to either purchase Genie+ or the Individual Lightning Lane for that ride. Although Genie+ includes a LOT of rides, some of the more in-demand rides have the Individual Lightning Lane option, which means you have to pay JUST for that ride.
Are you confused yet? Individual Lightning Lane rides are not included in Genie+, but have their own separate thing, so to speak. You do NOT need to purchase Genie+ to purchase an Individual Lightning Lane because the Individual Lightning Lane is its own thing. Whew…that’s so hard to explain, but we hope you get the gist of it.
Right now, select rides have the Individual Lightning Lane option, but we think this could change — at least a little — in 2024. So here’s what we think:
Magic Kingdom
So you can only buy two Individual Lightning Lanes per day in Disney World. Right now, the two rides in Magic Kingdom with the option are Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Tron Lightcycle / Run. However, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is supposed to open in late 2024, and being that it will be a NEW attraction, we expect it to have both a virtual queue and Individual Lightning Lane option, which is standard for most new Disney World attractions.
So what do we think? We think Seven Dwarfs Mine Train will probably move over to become part of Genie+ (meaning you’ll only need to purchase Genie+ to get in the Lightning Lane there), while Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and Tron Lightcycle / Run will have the Individual Lightning Lane option. This makes sense because of the three rides, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train will be the oldest.

EPCOT
There’s currently only one EPCOT attraction with the Individual Lightning Lane option and that’s Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. This ride is still one of the HOTTEST in Disney World, so we don’t expect demand to die out anytime soon.
So we’re thinking Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind will continue to have the Individual Lightning Lane option. However, you can also still try to grab a spot in the virtual queue for the ride for free.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Like EPCOT, only one ride offers the Individual Lightning Lane option at Disney World. That’s Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. As we expect Disney to keep at least one Individual Lightning Lane option in each park, we don’t expect this to change this year.
So expect to continue to pay for that Individual Lightning Lane if you want to get captured by the First Order and rescued by the Resistance.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Like EPCOT and Hollywood Studios, only one ride in Animal Kingdom offers Individual Lightning Lane, and we’re going to tell you now — you’re going to need it. That ride is Avatar Flight of Passage and it generally has the longest lines in ALL of Disney World. Even on slow days, we’ve seen wait times of HOURS for this ride.
We don’t expect Disney to drop the Individual Lightning Lane option for Flight of Passage anytime soon, so expect to pay for that one separately.

Pricing
As far as pricing goes, like Genie+, the cost of the Individual Lightning Lane option depends on demand. In the past we’ve seen the following pricing:
- Seven Dwarfs Mine Train – $10 – $12 per person
- AVATAR Flight of Passage — $11 – $16 per person
- Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance – $15 – $25 per person
- Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind — $14 – 17 per person
- TRON Lightcycle / Run — $20 per person
We don’t have an idea yet of what Disney might charge for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, but we could guess it could be as much as $25 per person, the highest we’ve seen for an Individual Lightning Lane.

Of course, things could change (as they often do in Disney World), but given what we know from what Disney has done in the past, we think these are all the rides that will be offered with the Individual Lightning Lane option. If something changes, though, we’ll be sure to let you know, so stay tuned to DFB for more.
