A Mickey Mouse-shaped piece of bread filled with hot dogs , colorful drinks, and unique snack creations — there’s a LOT to eat at the Lunar New Year celebration at Disney California Adventure Park! Where do you even begin?!
Don’t worry — we’ve got you covered! We’ve made our way all around the park to share FULL booth reviews and photos of the new and returning snacks. And now we’ve rounded up our list of MUST eats (and drinks) so you don’t miss a thing.
Just a note that the Lunar New Year celebration only runs from January 23rd through February 18th, 2024, so don’t wait too long to visit Disneyland Resort or you’ll miss out on all the fun!
Alright, now let’s dive into the very BEST snacks and drinks this festival has to offer!
NEW BESTS
In this category, we’ll share our picks for the very best NEW items that have arrived at the festival this year.
BBQ Pork Bun at Prosperity Bao & Buns
It’s hard to beat fluffy buns packed with protein — and that’s why the BBQ Pork Bun has made our list. This features kimchi mayo and garlic chile crunch. You can grab one of these for $9.
We describe this as a spicy little ball of deliciousness! The Kimchi Mayo is really what ties this whole dish together. The meat is super tender and the bao bun is, again, so soft. We give this one a 10/10 as long as you don’t mind spice!
Stereo Brewing Co. Jasmine Tea Lager at Prosperity Bao & Buns
We grabbed the beer flight here, but one stood out to us the most. The Stereo Brewing Co. Jasmine Tea Lager was next and this one was our reporter’s favorite!
The jasmine tea really shines in this drink, making it so incredibly refreshing — great for a hot day.

Shrimp Lo Mein Noodles at Longevity Noodle Co.
Over at Longevity Noodle Co., we are singing the praises of the Shrimp Lo Mein Noodles! These bad boys could be all yours for $9. These are pan-fried lo mein noodles with sautéed shrimp garnished with green onions.
Our first impression of this dish was that it has some GREAT spice. It isn’t too spicy, though, and it pairs well with the salty taste of the sauce. Oh, and that shrimp? It’s cooked to perfection and each piece is perfectly covered in seasoning. We’d recommend this to anyone who loves a classic lo mein dish that doesn’t mind a tiny hint of spice.

Yuja Pineapple Cooler at Wrapped With Love
The brand-new Yuja-Pineapple Cooler is made with Pineapple juice, yuja purée, rice milk, and condensed milk garnished with cherry and coconut foam, and it’s priced at $7.00.
We were surprised by how much we liked this! This drink was very sweet, tropical, and refreshing! We LOVED it and recommend it to anyone who is looking for a refreshing, non-alcoholic beverage. It’s also a great dessert drink!

RETURNING BESTS
This category is full of items that aren’t new to the festival but instead are returning favorites you do NOT want to miss.
Raspberry Oat Milk Tea at Wrapped With Love
Though this drink has changed locations (last year it was at Longevity Noodle Co.) it is no less delicious! What we especially like is that the drink is a non-alcoholic one, so everyone can enjoy it. The Raspberry Oat Milk Tea is made of Joffrey’s Coffee & Tea Co. Ceylon Tea, raspberry and demerara syrups, and oat milk. It is garnished with skewered raspberries.
Last year we thought this drink was delicious! It was sweet but not overly so, and we absolutely loved that raspberry garnish which added a level of freshness. Try it for yourself for $6.50. We’re happy to report it’s just as good as we remember! Sweet (but not too sweet) and the raspberry garnish is a winner. This is another great non-alcoholic option for anyone looking for a refreshing but dessert-like drink.

Red Spice Fried Chicken Bites at Red Dragon Spice Traders
If you’re looking for something that’ll bring the HEAT, stop by Red Dragon Spice Traders for the returning Red Spice Fried Chicken Bites. These are fried chicken chicharrones in spicy red chile sauce, and they’re priced at $8.75.
In 2023, the chicken delivered in terms of that spicy KICK we were looking for. They were crispy, plentiful, packed with flavor (not just heat), and the heat level made our lips burn in a satisfying way!
This dish was a WINNER in our book again this year! It’s got a good kick to it, without the spice getting out of control. It did make our noses run a bit though, so watch out for that! It was nice and crispy with great flavor and was a decent-sized portion.

Mickey Mouse-Shaped Hot Dog Bun at Bamboo Blessings
This snack might seem basic but it’s a staple of the festival, iconic to this celebration, and absolutely a MUST-GET. The returning Mickey-shaped Hot Dog Bun is made of a brioche-style Mickey-shaped bun stuffed with hot dog and finished with sesame seeds and scallions. It is priced at $7.50.
This really is a fun and tasty spin on a classic theme park eat. Just be warned — the quality of the bun can vary here. Some years the bun has been REALLY good. But in 2023, we found it to be quite dry.
This year, we thought the hot dog bun tasted even BETTER! It was soft and warm, yet thick and flaky all at once. Our hot dog was juicy and flavorful, too. In terms of flavor, we’re not saying this is groundbreaking, but it’s a simple, warm, savory dish we keep coming back to every year. It’s a win!
