Refurbishment finds a way. Jurassic Park River Adventure at Universal Islands of Adventure is now closed for refurbishment. Construction walls are up around the entrance to the attraction and splash zone near the drop. If you’re looking for a water ride in the winter, you’ll have to head over to Toon Lagoon instead.
Jurassic Park River Adventures Closes for Refurbishment
January is the slow season, resulting in several operational changes to the park hours. Since the crowds and the temperatures are lower this time of year, Universal Orlando tends to do refurbishments on water rides around this time.
Jurassic Park River Adventure will be closed from January 8, 2024 until February 1, 2024. The attraction is expected to reopen on February 2, but things are always subject to change.
After Jurassic Park River Adventure completes its annual maintenance, Popeye and Bluto’s Bilge-Rat Barges will be closing for its turn.
This short maintenance period will most likely just be for minor repairs and touch-ups around the attraction. It’s very unlikely any major changes will occur, but it would be nice to see a few of the dinosaurs get refreshed.
A lot of refurbishment is happening around the resort right now. The Hideaway Bar and pool are closed for refurbishment at Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort and Universal’s Horror Make-Up Show is also closing for a few days this month.
