We’re not gonna sugarcoat it — some lines in Disney World are just BRUTAL.
If you’ve been to Disney World recently, you probably know what we’re about to say — Rise of the Resistance and Slinky Dog Dash continue to post the highest wait times in the park, and sometimes, even in ALL of Disney World. But what if we told you there is a way to skip these high wait times? Well, we’re in the mood to spill some secrets — there is a way!
After Hours has returned to Disney World and we’re at the first Hollywood Studios event of 2024! Ticket costs range from $155 to $175 depending on the day you go. There are also discounts available for Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club Members. After Hours events in Hollywood Studios take place on certain nights from now until April 10th, 2024.
One of the biggest perks (if not THE biggest) is the shorter wait times, especially in a park like Hollywood Studios which is notorious for its long lines. So how long should you expect to wait in line during this three-hour-long event? We found out!
Here’s a look at the rest of the wait times around 8PM.
At this time, Slinky Dog Dash and Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway had the highest wait times at 45 minutes and 35 minutes respectively.
Rise of the Resistance is one of the most popular rides in Disney World…but during After Hours, you won’t wait nearly as long as you would during the day.
We stopped by around 8:45PM while daytime visitors could still be in the park, but the wait was at 45 minutes. We hopped in line shortly after and it actually only took us 8 minutes to get on the attraction!
One of the biggest draws for folks attending After Hours Events is the promise of low wait times. Rise of the Resistance is down to 45 minutes already! pic.twitter.com/BvxSjYvbNx

The event began at 9:30PM and at that time, the posted wait for Rise of the Resistance was only 20 minutes! Toy Story Mania had the same wait time and Tower of Terror was a walk-on (peep the 13-minute wait time!). By 10PM, the wait time was down to 10 minutes!
Slinky Dog Dash often posts higher wait times than the Star Wars ride, so how were wait times looking over in Toy Story Land? Around 9:30PM, we noticed it was the highest wait in the park, but it was down to 30 minutes.
Now it’s time for the 10:30PM wait times! Several rides including Star Tours and Alien Swirling Saucers posted a 5-minute wait time.
On the higher end, Toy Story Mania was up to a 30-minute wait time! Slinky Dog Dash was still temporarily closed.
There you have it! After Hours events are coming back to two more Disney World parks — Magic Kingdom on January 11th and EPCOT on February 2nd. We’ll also be at those events, so keep following DFB for more After Hours coverage to see if it’s worth your money on your next visit to Disney World. We’ll see ya then!
