A new glow-in-the-dark Disney Vacation Club Loungefly mini backpack and matching Spirit Jersey have arrived at Walt Disney World. We found them in Conch Flats General Store at Disney’s Old Key West Resort. The backpack and jersey match the DVC Moonlight Magic artwork. During complimentary Moonlight Magic events, DVC members get after-hours access to a Walt Disney World theme park with special entertainment, food, and character meet and greets.
Glow-in-the-Dark DVC Loungefly Mini Backpack – $88
The pleather backpack is mostly dark blue with white four-pointed stars dotted across it. A black metal Disney Parks and Loungefly plaque is set against a lighter blue square near the top. Like most Loungefly mini backpacks it has a main zip pocket and a small zip pocket on the front.
The small zip pocket is printed with the profile of Mickey’s head, outlined with light blue. A white crescent moon is in one of Mickey’s ears. Over what would be his face is the white silhouette of Cinderella Castle.
“Disney Vacation Club” is printed above the pocket in white lettering. “Member” is in larger block letters and highlighted with blue. A similar color blue lines the bag’s zippers.
The zippers are silvertone. Stars are across the slip pockets on either side, with have light blue interiors. The stars continue on the fabric of the backpack straps.
The padded tops of the straps are light blue, as is the top handle. The back of the bag is solid dark blue with no stars. The bottom of the bag is lined with light blue piping.
There is one small design on the back. It features a light blue silhouette of the castle set against a crescent moon. “Disney Vacation Club” is in white across the image.
The interior lining is light blue with an all-over pattern of Mickey Mouse. He’s in black and white and wearing his classic shorts, gloves, and shoes.
Glow-in-the-Dark DVC Spirit Jersey – $90
The Spirit Jersey has the same light blue silhouette of Cinderella Castle and a crescent moon on its back, behind “Disney Vacation Club” in large white letters. The jersey is dark blue, with a solid top half and a starry bottom half. The letters are made of a rubbery raised material.
Disney Vacation Club is a timeshare program founded in 1991 at Walt Disney World with the opening of what was then known as the Disney Vacation Club Resort. The resort was renamed Disney’s Old Key West Resort in 1996 as more DVC properties opened. DVC has expanded to Disneyland Resort and Aulani in Hawai’i.
With the upcoming DVC Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campgrounds, there will be a total of 17 DVC resorts worldwide. A new DVC tower is also under construction at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. This will be part of the same condo association as the other DVC offerings at the Polynesian.
The front of the Spirit Jersey features a “D” shaped symbol with Mickey at the center. It’s the same black and white Mickey from the interior of the backpack. “Member” is in white along the side of the “D” shape.
The curve of the letter is actually another light blue crescent moon. The white stars and light blue sections of the DVC Loungefly backpack and Spirit Jersey are presumably the areas that glow.
In addition to Disney’s Old Key West Resort, these are the Disney Vacation Club resorts at Walt Disney World:
- Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Jambo House
- Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village
- Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort
