We are officially through the Christmas and New Year’s celebrations!

The busiest days of the year have passed. We saw park passes selling out, Genie+ selling out despite the record high prices, and some very high wait times! “Busy” is probably an understatement for the number of people we saw in the parks over the last couple of weeks. But now that we’re past the biggest celebrations of the year, we’re wondering what is happening with those very high Genie+ prices.

Today, January 2nd, saw Magic Kingdom sold out of some select park passes, again! This could be a good indication that the popular park will continue to be very busy.

The crowds we had expected to see throughout the past week, finally hit the parks today. Getting into Magic Kingdom was SUPER busy!

And Main Street, U.S.A. was jam-packed with parkgoers!

This is what we expected the hub near Cinderella Castle to look like on the morning of New Year’s Eve, but today was clearly the day everyone wanted to visit. We were surprised by these crowds, today!

And, yet, despite this, Genie+ prices have significantly dropped! We’re seeing some much lower prices for the virtual assistant, which is kind of surprising due to the continued high crowds. Today’s prices are as follows:

• Multiple Parks — $29
• Magic Kingdom — $29
• EPCOT — $21
• Hollywood Studios — $26
• Animal Kingdom — $18

Genie+ can be very useful on these busy days so you can skip the long lines using the Lightning Lanes. However, there are also a few rides that you must pay for separately in order to skip the lines — Individual Lightning Lanes. So if you want to ride rides like TRON Lightcycle / Run or Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, make sure you’re looking for the Individual Lightning Lane selections!
