If you’re planning a Disney World trip, we’ve got some big news to share with you.

So we’ve already talked about why January (especially late January) could be a great time to travel to Disney World: the holiday crowds are gone and the weather is generally cooler. However, we have ANOTHER reason why booking a trip to Disney World — or anywhere else — could be a good idea. 

Thanks to data from Hopper, an online booking site, we’ve noticed that flights for January 2024 are generally cheaper than they’ve been in the past. This data suggests that January is the cheapest month of the year to book travel until the fall travel season in September and October. Fares are expected to rise in late spring just in time for spring break. So NOW is the time to travel!

The data also suggests that the cost of domestic airfare will remain below 2023 and pre-pandemic levels for the next five months, though, so if you can’t travel in January, you’re still going to get lower airfare prices than we’ve seen in four years. The data also shows that airlines are adding seats to many destinations, which also helps in bringing prices down for these popular spots.

Hotels are also in demand, particularly in Orlando. According to Hopper, Orlando is the 5th most-searched destination on the app, with hotels there averaging around $152 per night.

Interestingly enough, Hopper has also found that travelers are now planning their trips closer to their departure dates than before 2020. On average, Americans are making their first search for a flight just one month before departure, almost two weeks closer than they would have before the pandemic.

We like to keep updated on these travel trends, and we’ll have to see if the potential end of revenge travel will impact how many people we see at the airport and in Disney World.
