It may feel like it’s been forever since work first began to transform Paradise Pier Hotel into the all-new Pixar Place Hotel and now that day has almost come. Starting tomorrow, we’ll be able to walk through the doors of this beautiful hotel and experience all of the latest updates, artwork, and more.
Late last year, Disney shared new details about the opening timeline for this reimagined hotel, and we got a peek into the updated feel that aimed to “weave the artistry of Pixar into its comfortable, contemporary setting.”
New glass character decor
The new stylized atmosphere and decor took aim to help its visitors get “a new perspective on some of their favorite Pixar worlds and characters.” A lot of the features that will be visible throughout the entire hotel will be placed strategically around to highlight the creative journey of the artists who bring the beloved Pixar stories to life. We’ve already seen this come to life in the recently opened lobby for the hotel!
Finding Nemo mural in Pixar Place Lobby
You’ll want to look everywhere in this hotel (high and low) because you never know what you’ll spot next! Extensive care was taken with consideration into every updated detail to help you feel like you’ve stepped into a modern Pixar art gallery.
Lobby Check-In Desks
Even the rooms look like you’ve stepped into an animation storyboard with lots of familiar Pixar pals! Did you spot the Luxo ball detail in the decorative pillow on each bed?
Pixar Place Hotel Room
The pool area is nice and open and even features a sleek design perfect for catching a few rays of sunshine. Is that Crush the Turtle on top of the water slide, we see? That makes total sense to us!
If you haven’t already made your reservations here for your next Disneyland visit, we think this one will really be a hit! We love the fun theming and sophisticated look. We’re really excited to see how well this updated look of the hotel is received by everyone! Be sure you’re following us at Disney Food Blog for the latest in changes and more!

A few years ago, Disney World added one BIG perk to select hotels.
Who’s up for a ride on the Skyliner?
That’s right, we’re talking about the Disney Skyliner! This new-ish form of transportation opened in 2019 and since then, those staying at Pop Century Resort, Art of Animation Resort, Caribbean Beach Resort, and Riviera Resort have been able to ride “The Most Magical Flight on Earth” to select locations. The Skyliner has been so popular, in fact, that sometimes people will park at Hollywood Studios just to hop on it and ride the loop! But if you’re hoping for a ride, you should know that there are certain times when you CAN’T ride the Skyliner in Disney World.
Outside of Operating Hours
This may seem obvious, but you can’t ride the Disney Skyliner outside of its operating hours! Like all other forms of complimentary Disney transportation, the Skyliner does not run 24/7. Typically, we see it opening around 7:30AM and closing around 10:30PM, although those hours can shift depending on park hours that day.
Hours for the Skyliner
Lines often form for the Skyliner before it opens in the morning. And if you find yourself leaving the park after the Skyliner has already closed for the night, you’ll have to find an alternate mode of transportation.
When There Are Weather Issues
In Florida, it rains…A LOT. And if there are thunderstorms in the area, the Skyliner will be required to close for the safety of the riders. If that happens, Disney will typically offer buses that run to the usual Skyliner destinations instead.
Disney World Skyliner
The Skyliner may also close if there’s excessive wind. Because the gondolas are attached to the cords by one hanging arm, they tend to swing if it’s particularly windy, so Disney will wait until the wind dies down to reopen.
When Going to Other Parks and Hotels
One thing you may not know if you aren’t a Disney expert is that the Skyliner doesn’t run all over Disney World — only to a select number of locations. The only two parks it services are EPCOT and Hollywood Studios, so you can’t ride the Skyliner to get to Magic Kingdom or Animal Kingdom.
Disney Skyliner
The Skyliner also has stations at a few resorts — Riviera, Caribbean Beach, Pop Century, and Art of Animation. Those staying at the EPCOT area resorts (Yacht Club, Beach Club, BoardWalk, and the Swan and Dolphin Hotels) can walk from their hotel to the International Gateway entrance of EPCOT and board the Skyliner there. However, if people staying at those EPCOT area hotels are trying to get to Hollywood Studios, there’s also the option of taking a Friendship Boat or walking directly to the park, so the Skyliner might not be the fastest route.
Skyliner Station at Disney Pop Century Resort and Disney’s Art of Animation Resort
The Skyliner doesn’t travel to any of the other Disney World Resorts or Disney Springs, so you’ll need to find alternate transportation to get to those areas. If you’re trying to get around the property and running into issues, make sure to check out our transportation guide!
The Skyliner
So even though the Skyliner is a fan favorite, it does have its limits! We hope this information helps you get around Disney World efficiently!

We may still be feeling the raw emotions that come with bidding farewell to a classic attraction in Magic Kingdom, but Disney has announced even more changes will be coming to entertainment across the park. Just recently, we saw changes to the parade and cavalcade schedules. We hope you’re buckled in tight though because we’ve got quite the shake-up getting ready to happen and we’re telling you about ALL the changes!
If you’re planning on visiting Magic Kingdom soon and think you already have your plans made out to the minute, this is your reminder that things can change here on a dime.
The Dapper Dans
We’ve noticed that the showtime for the nighttime fireworks spectacular, Happily Ever After, will be moving from its current 8PM performance time slightly back to start performing at 8:30PM nightly. This change will begin on March 10th, 2024.
That’s not the only entertainment schedule change, though!
While we just saw the Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade move up in showtimes to two almost back-to-back performances closer to mid-morning each day, we’ve got some more changes to announce for it. As of February 18th, this beloved cavalcade will once again move BACK to an evening start at 5:10PM daily and perform only ONCE a day (it’s been performing twice daily.)
Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade
Since January 16th, 2024, they’ve been presenting two morning cavalcades, giving us ample opportunity to see our friends strolling along. Starting soon, we’ll only have one opportunity to say “hi” to our favorite pals.
The changes here will be a bit more subtle (changing by only about 5 to 10 minutes from their current performance times). Starting on February 18th, 2024, showtimes will be 10AM, 11:10AM, 12:50PM, 1:55PM, and 4PM. Make sure to check the My Disney Experience app in case those showtimes are different when you visit.
…and the Casey’s Corner pianist performance times. The Casey’s Corner Pianist’s showtimes will change on February 18th, too, with the new showtimes listed below.
