The 7 Best AND Worst Food & Drinks at the 2024 EPCOT International Festival of the Arts

As invited media, Disney provided WDWNT with a $100 gift card for food and beverage for the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts, so some of the following coverage was hosted. As always, WDWNT will still provide our honest thoughts on all below.

Our reporters have tasted everything on the menu this year for the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts, and we’ve compiled the seven best and worst items.

For more in-depth details, check out our full review of every item from the festival.

We’ll start with the best of the worst.

The Worst 7

#7 – Blueberry-Filled Pastry Tart (Figment’s Inspiration Station)

A reporter's hand holding a small white paper plate with the blueberry pastry. In the background is a mural depicting Figment under a rainbow.

This is a dry, nearly flavorless imitation of a Pop Tart. It doesn’t even take a cute enough photo to justify $4.75.

#6 – Duck & Dumplings (The Artist’s Table)

A long rectangular white paper plate holding two dumplings between three slices of duck.

This was greasy, with dense dumplings and congealed ricotta.

#5 – Silk River Hard Lemonade (Painted Panda)

A stemless plastic wine cup with a vibrant pink drink inside.

Lavender-heavy and sickeningly sweet, there are simply too many good cocktails at EPCOT to waste your money on this.

#4 – Char Siu Pork Bun (Painted Panda)

A pork bun overflowing with filling on a white rectangle plate.

This is dry, bland, and unpalatable.

#3 – Mozzarella Fritta (L’Arte di Mangiare)

Fried mozzarella plated in the center of a small art palette, with four different condiments in eight of the paint spots.

The presentation is cute, but somehow, they failed at breaded, fried cheese.

#2 Italian White & Red Sangrias (L’Arte di Mangiare)

WDW EPCOT Festival of the Arts Italian Sangria collage

These are $12 each, and we recommend running far from both. They’re cheap, unpleasant, and were served warm (likely unintentionally).

#1 – Smokey Banana Bliss Margarita (El Artista Hambriento)

A reporter's hand holding a plastic cup filled with yellow-orange liquid and a banana leaf garnish.

Not only is this the worst cocktail in EPCOT festival history, but it’s the worst of the worst overall this year. It’s sticky, cloying, and medicinal. Buying this is like throwing $15.50 in the trash, because that’s where it’ll end up.

And now, starting with the worst of the best:

The Best 7

#7 – General Tso’s Chicken Shumai (Painted Panda)

Three chicken dumplings on a rectangular white plate.

Long-time readers may remember that we often enjoy General Tso’s Chicken dishes (like the salad at Connections Eatery), and this dish is no exception. The sweet and spicy dumplings are plump with chicken.

#6 – Duo de Saumon Hot and Cold (L’Art de la Cuisine Française)

A rectangular white plate with the cold salmon offering on the left and the hot salmon offering on the right.

You can get the cold and hot options separately for $7.95 each, or get this combination plate for $14.75. It’s not much of a savings, but you may as well save a little if you want to try both. You can’t go wrong with either but the hot option is one of the best new items at the festival.

#5 – Tomato Soup with Pimento Cheese, Bacon, and Friend Green Tomato Grilled Cheese (POP Eats)

Tomato soup in a Pop Eats can sits next to two halves of a grilled cheese sandwich on a white rectangular plate.

Not only is this the best version of the tomato soup and grilled cheese dishes they’ve had over the years, it’s one of our favorites overall. The fried green tomatoes and pimento cheese really elevate the dish.

#4 – Red Wine-Braised Beef Short Rib (Pastoral Palate)

WDW EPCOT Festival of the Arts Pastoral Palate Braised Beef Short Rib

This dish is incredibly tender, flavorful, and hearty enough for sharing.

#3 – Deconstructed Key Lime Pie (Deconstructed Dish)

A square paper plate with the deconstructed Key Lime Pie elements artfully arranged.

Not only does the presentation nail the heart of the booth, but it offers the perfect balance of sweet and tart while allowing you to balance the flavors to your preference.

#2 – Wild Mushroom Risotto (Gourmet Landscapes)

A small white bowl with a small serving of risotto.

This is a phenomenal risotto and one of only two vegan dishes this year. It’s rich and hearty.

#1 – Crazy Chocolate Funnel Cake Sandwich (Funnel Cake)

A chocolate funnel cake sandwich on a small white paper plate.

Our favorite dish of the whole festival this year is also the best funnel cake they’ve created. There’s a lot going on but it all works together so well.

What are your favorite and least favorite dishes from the 2024 EPCOT International Festival of the Arts? Let us know in the comments.

The Festival of the Arts runs through February 19, 2024. See our full guide to the festival for more information.

CONFIRMED: The ONE Part of the Country Bear Jamboree That’s Still Available Following Attraction Closure in Magic Kingdom

A few days ago, we witnessed the end of an era in Disney World.

The show is closed for now!

The Country Bear Jamboree closed its doors, but before that, a LOT of people came by Magic Kingdom to bid them farewell. However, don’t worry — the Country Bears are just learning a brand-new act, so they can return this summer with new songs! If you still miss seeing Big Al, Shaker, Liver Lips McGrowl, and Wendell, though, we’re going to tell you where to see them in Magic Kingdom while their show is closed.

We confirmed via the My Disney Experience app that four of the Country Bears will still be roaming around Frontierland to meet Disney World visitors. You can catch Big Al wandering Magic Kingdom throughout the day.

Big Al

For example, you may spot him around 1PM, 2PM, or 3:20PM. Note that those times may vary, so make sure to check My Disney Experience during your visit.

©Disney

Shaker will be hanging around Frontierland throughout the day, too!

©Disney

You may also spot Wendell greeting folks in Frontierland. He typically wanders the park at the same times as Shaker.

©Disney

You may recognize his name from the iconic Wendell’s Bear Claw treat we used to LOVE!

Wendell and the last Bear Claw we’ve ever eaten!

Finally, Liver Lips McGrowl (who will be renamed Romeo McGrowl in the new show) can be seen at 1PM, 2PM, and 3:20PM.

©Disney

We’ll be interested to see when (and if) his name — and existence in Magic Kingdom — changes before the new show debuts.

He’s a goofball!

Be sure to visit Frontierland the next time you’re in Magic Kingdom if you want to meet the Country Bears. We’re already keeping an eye on the closed attraction to see what has changed, so stay tuned to DFB for ALL the Country Bear updates (and other Disney news, too, of course).

An EXCLUSIVE and FREE Souvenir for Annual Passholders Is Coming to EPCOT Tomorrow!

What do you think is the BEST perk to being a Disney World Annual Passholder (besides not paying for park tickets every time you plan a trip, of course)? Maybe it’s the 20% discount on merchandise? The discount on dining? It could be the exclusive hotel deals! However, lots of Passholders really LOVE the free souvenirs!

Disney World Annual Pass

A NEW and exclusive Annual Passholder souvenir is coming to Disney World VERY SOON! The best part? It’s totally FREE! Check out all the info so that you don’t miss the chance to get yours.

Disney occasionally releases Annual Passholder-exclusive souvenirs in the form of magnets! These magnets usually have the Disney logo on them along with a classic character. We’ve seen magnets themed to Oswald, Figment, Dumbo, Minnie, Orange Bird, and more.

Oswald and Figment Annual Passholder magnets

The newest magnet — which comes out TOMORROW, January 29th! — will feature Hei Hei from Moana! Hei Hei is pictured front and center surrounded by the retro-fitted Disney “D.” The letter is colored in teal to highlight the colorful (yet kookie) bird.

©Disney

The new Hei Hei magnet will be available at Creations Shop from January 29th through February 23rd. On these days, EPCOT will be open from 9AM to 9PM. Disney notes that the magnet will be available “while supplies last.”

Creations Shop

To get the magnet, head to Creations Shop in the World Celebration part of EPCOT. You’ll need to bring along a valid Annual Pass card, linked MagicBand, or MagicMobile pass along with a government-issued photo ID.

Annual Pass

Don’t forget that Annual Passholders still need Park Pass Reservations to get into the Disney World theme parks…usually. The exceptions to the rule are after 2PM (excluding Magic Kingdom on Saturdays and Sundays) and “Good-to-Go” days.

Currently, Disney has a few “Good-to-Go” days marked on the calendar during this new magnet’s distribution, including January 31st, and February 1st, 4th, and 6th. Disney may add more “Good-to-Go” days soon! They’re added to the calendar on a rolling basis.

©Disney

Unless one of those exceptions applies to your plans, make sure to snag that Park Pass so you can get your free souvenir!

There’s a limit of one magnet per Passholder. Stay tuned to DFB for more updates on all the latest Disney news!

These 8 NEW Disney Hotel Rooms Are Literally the Most Incredible Things We’ve EVER Seen!

Who wants to hop on a plane with us and go to Paris? 🙋

©Disney

Yep, we suddenly want to go to Disneyland Paris. First, we NEED to see a Disney park covered in SNOW because the photos from that event were PURE MAGIC. Of course, we also wouldn’t mind checking out the food there, too. However, what we REALLY want to do is book a stay at the reopened Disneyland Hotel, which recently got a ROYAL makeover.  Now, we’re going to take you on a virtual tour of these princess-worthy rooms.

The Disneyland Hotel at Disneyland Paris is a five-star hotel that is completely inspired by Disney royalty. That royal experience starts the minute you step into the lobby, which is inspired by the libraries of famous French castles. There’s even a MASSIVE chandelier made of Bohemian crystal that represents Sleeping Beauty Castle. WHAAAT?! Look at that thing!

©Disney

But the hotel’s new rooms are REALLY where you want to be. The 487 rooms and suites now have new interiors, decor, artwork, accents, and more, all inspired by Disney’s most beloved royal stories. If you have to have juuuuust the right pillow, each room offers SEVEN TYPES of pillows to choose from. WOW. A pillow menu — now that’s fancy!

©Disney

The Superior Rooms offer a relaxing space done up in blues and silvers with exclusive artwork from Disney movies featuring royalty, including Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, The Princess and the Frog, Tangled, Frozen, Moana, and Raya and the Last Dragon. Each room features carefully chosen design elements to represent one of those films.

©Disney

Deluxe Rooms go one step further and feature an illuminated canopy above the bed (SAY WHAT?!?!), as well as exclusive art “showcasing iconic moments from these Disney stories magically come to life with a special enchantment in the room.” Those staying in these rooms also get dedicated check-in and concierge services, as well as exclusive access to the Deluxe Lounge.

Stay in one of 41 Castle Club Rooms and get even more exclusive benefits and “enhanced magic.” These rooms offer a hotel-within-a-hotel experience and are located on the top two floors of the hotel. Each room has a private elevator and dedicated check-in. Guests staying in these rooms also have access to the Castle Club Lounge, which includes breakfast with Disney princesses.

©Disney

As part of the Castle Club, there are 16 Signature Suites, a Princely Suite, and a Royal Suite. This is pretty much the PINACCLE of luxury at the hotel. Imagineers worked tirelessly with Walt Disney Animation Studios and local craftspeople to create a themed room experience with deluxe products and amenities like walk-in closets and spa bathtubs. Each suite has its own royal theme. There are Sleeping Beauty Signature Suites…

©Disney

…Cinderella Signature Suites…

©Disney

…Frozen Signature Suites…

©Disney

…Rapunzel Signature Suites…

©Disney

…and Beauty and the Beast Signature Suites.

©Disney

You’ll also find a Princely Suite with “lavish baroque decor.”

©Disney

When they say lavish, they are NOT kidding!

©Disney

There’s even a Royal Frozen Suite inspired by Elsa’s ice castle. Just WOW.

©Disney

Oh, and did we mention there’s an ice chandelier? This room is EXTRA, and we are here for it.

©Disney

So, if you’re headed to Disneyland Paris, you may want to consider booking a stay at the most ROYAL Disney hotel ever created! Of course, it will also cost you royal prices. A stay here starts at around $1,450 per night for a superior room and runs up to around $3,700 per night for a signature suite. OUCH.

This ADORABLE Disney World Announcement Will Give You a BIG Cause To Celebrate

Okay, so some things at Disney World are always just TOO cute for words.

Animal Kingdom

Disney characters ALWAYS make us smile. Cast Members are SO fun and sweet. Disney ducks can literally make our day. But we absolutely LOVE it when Disney announces baby animals being born. Recently, Disney’s Animal Kingdom just got a few newborns, and yes, we are OBSESSED.

Dr. Mark Penning, Vice President of Disney’s Animals, Science & Environment, just shared the news that three new baby Cotton-Top Tamarins have been born in Disney’s Animal Kingdom! Tamarins are among the smallest of primates and are generally found in the tropical forests in northwestern Colombia. They’re known for their WILD hairdos. They’re also SO cute.

©Disney

These monkeys are a critically endangered species, so it’s a big deal when more are born — these monkeys are now among the rarest primates in the world. So let’s just say that these newborns give us a big cause to celebrate.

©Disney

Right now, the triplets are busy bonding with their parents and siblings. According to Dr. Penning, both the mom and dad share baby care responsibilities and will carry the young ones on their backs until they are about 14 weeks of age. AWWW!

©Disney

These babies will eventually grow to about 1 pound (we told you they were tiny), but they will still be able to leap 15 feet from a stationary branch!

©Disney

If you’re visiting Animal Kingdom, you might just see this beautiful family doing its thing. So be sure to take time to appreciate them. You’ll find them on Discovery Island in the park.

Stay tuned to DFB for more.

McDonald’s Just Sent Me a Text About How To Get FREE Burgers for a Year

Why do we talk about McDonald’s so much, you may ask?

McDonald’s

Well, McDonald’s and Disney have a long history together; there’s literally a McDonald’s on Disney World property, plus we often see Disney-themed Happy Meal toys. If you’re a big fan of the fast food restaurant like we are, you’ll never believe the text message we were just sent.

When we heard our phone ding, the last thing we expected was a McDonald’s text telling us that the Hamburglar is on the loose! He was last seen riding away with McDonald’s best burgers in a car with the license plate RBL RBL. Be on the lookout!

Uh…hi?

The text asks you to text back the city you’re located in, and McDonald’s will tell you if he’s nearby. You could potentially win a prize pack or free burgers for a YEAR!

We want free burgers for a year!

So far, we haven’t heard anything else, so the Hamburglar must still be driving around on the loose. You can bet we’ll be keeping a close eye on our phones, though!

McDonald’s always cheers us up!

Speaking of McDonald’s, did you know that a GIGANTIC new Double Big Mac Burger is HERE? Of course, we had to go and try it for ourselves, and we had THOUGHTS.

This is… a lot.
