Crystal Arts at Magic Kingdom now has customizable pens available as part of the “Crystal Wish Keepers” experience.

Crystal Wish Keeper Pen – $25

The pens can be engraved with your name. The transparent half is filled with the colorful crystals of your choosing. The pens have silver Mickey charms hanging from their ends.

The examples on display show a pen filled with clear and blue crystals, another with a rainbow of crystals, and a third with red and clear crystals.

The Crystal Wish Keepers are glass wands, slippers, roses, and other curios that guests can fill with whatever crystals they desire. New wand topper options were also recently added to the experience. Prices vary depending on the object you choose, but pens are now the cheapest option.

The crystals are different colors with different meanings attached. Read more about the create-your-own Crystal Wish Keepers. The experience is available at Crystal Arts on Main Street, U.S.A. beginning at 11 a.m. each day.

Lunar New Year has arrived in Disney California Adventure!

2024 is the Year of the Dragon, and the park will mark the year’s arrival with the annual Lunar New Year celebration, which takes place from January 23rd through February 18th this year. There will be lots of new eats at the food booths, fun entertainment offerings, merchandise, and more. We’ve already shared the full menus for ALL the booths, but today we’re stopping by the Longevity Noodle Co. booth to review the goods. Come see what we found!

Menu

This year, Longevity Noodle Co. has one returning food item, a new noodle dish and a new drink!

Last year we thought this was a pretty solid booth, but overall nothing special. We were honestly unimpressed with how plain the food was. How did it fare this year? Let’s take a look!

Eats

First on the menu are the Garlic Noodles for $8, which are long noodles tossed in zesty garlic butter and parmesan. Last year, we thought that this dish was good — they are cheesy noodles, after all, but there wasn’t anything super exciting about it.

It was basically spaghetti with parmesan and garlic. However, we thought it would have been a good pick for those with a pickier palette. We didn’t grab this dish this year, but we did grab…

The Shrimp Lo Mein Noodles! These bad boys could be all yours for $9. These are pan-fried lo mein noodles with sautéed shrimp garnished with green onions.

Wow! Our first impression of this dish was that it has some GREAT spice. It isn’t too spicy, though, and it pairs well with the salty taste of the sauce. If you love Asian food, you probably know exactly what we mean. It’s like that red pepper flavor mixed with soy sauce.

This flavor also pairs well with the cabbage, which provides a bright, fresh flavor that really adds some complexity to the dish. Oh, and that shrimp? It’s cooked to perfection and each piece is perfectly covered in seasoning. We’d recommend this to anyone who loves a classic lo mein dish that doesn’t mind a tiny hint of spice.

Now, let’s talk about DRINKS!

Drinks

Finally, we tried the NEW Dragon Cocktail for $17.

This is made with Dragonberry rum, white rum, lychee nectar, dragon fruit and Chinese five-spice syrups, lime juice, and house-made coriander tea garnished with a dried dragon fruit wheel.

Wow, wow, and wow. There are so many great flavors in this drink. It’s seriously SWEET, but that’s okay. It’s so fruity and sweet that you can’t even taste the rum, which can be dangerous. It also has a bit of a tart flavor from the lime juice, which was much appreciated since it helped balance out that sweetness. We’d recommend this to anyone who wants an alcoholic drink but doesn’t like the taste of alcohol, and it’s also great for those that have a sweet tooth.

Also returning from last year is the Lotus Flower Glow Cube for $6, which you can add to your bevi.

Overall

This booth has some pretty safe options that many guests can enjoy. Plus, we were excited to see some complexity in the Shrimp Lo Mein this year that we didn’t get with the garlic noodles last year. If you like shrimp, you should get the Shrimp Lo Mein Noodles, and for those looking for an Instagramable cocktail, the Dragon Cocktail is right up your alley!

Universal Orlando Resort has shared its first official footage from the Epic Universe construction site in a new Instagram video on the UOTMLife page. The video features various Universal Orlando Resort Team Members describing what “Epic” means to them before launching into a look at the new park under construction.

Though this is the first official footage of the park, we’ve been watching Epic Universe construction progress thanks to aerial photographer bioreconstruct. But that just means we can identify most of the structures in the new footage.

Behind Karen Irwin, President & COO of Universal Orlando Resort, is the in-park hotel and a carousel attraction rumored to be named Constellation Carousel. The ride will be part of a space-themed land rumored to be named Celestial Park — the only non-IP land in Epic Universe. Celestial Park will also include a dual-racing coaster, which is visible in some of the video. Look for yellow and orange coaster tracks.

This expansive view of a land appears to be Super Nintendo World before paneling was installed on some walls. This will be the third version of Super Nintendo World, following Universal Studios Japan and Universal Studios Hollywood. It’s also the only Epic Universe land that has been officially announced.

This balcony may also be in Super Nintendo World, but it’s not as clear. It’s lit by the sun but it could be inside a building. Epic Universe will include several large indoor attractions, including a Ministry of Magic ride in the third Wizarding World of Harry Potter and a Frankenstein ride inside a manor in a Classic Monsters land.

This is a clearer view of the in-park hotel, much earlier on in the Epic Universe construction phase than it is currently, as there are only a few stories. The circle at the bottom of the screenshot is the base of a fountain, while the structure to the left is rumored to be a restaurant.

Here’s an overhead view of the two dome frameworks for the carousel. Epic Universe will have several water features and the carousel will be on the edge of one. The water will fill the concrete space in the top right part of the screenshot.

A Team Member also showed off this colorful diamond-patterned shirt. It’s not clear if this is a new Epic Universe Team Member costume but we don’t recognize it from anywhere else in Universal Orlando Resort. It’s white, red, blue, and orange.

The video also included clips of the new Universal Terra Luna and Stella Nova resorts which will be located near Epic Universe.

Epic Universe construction is still ongoing, with the park scheduled to open in the summer of 2025; very few official announcements have been made. The UOTMLife Instagram account has been mentioning Epic Universe a lot lately, including sharing the new street sign for Epic Boulevard. The Legacy Store is rumored to become an Epic Universe Preview Center, so we expect more announcements soon. As always, stay tuned for more updates!

If you consider yourself to be a true Disney churro aficionado, we’ve got an update you CANNOT miss!

Over at Disney California Adventure in Disneyland Resort, you’ll find Willie’s Churros, a cart that serves up…you guessed it…CHURROS. The hot and delicious snack is a Disneyland favorite, but now they’ve decided to serve up a unique creation for a very limited time!

From January 23rd through February 18th, 2024, Disneyland is celebrating the Lunar New Year with a festival in California Adventure! There’s food, characters, merchandise, and much more. And one particular festival offering is tucked away at Willie’s Churros!

Menu

The special Lunar New Year Festival offering you’ll find here is the Dragon Fruit Churro! It is priced  at $7.25.

But is this worth a try over a regular, standard churro? Let’s find out.

Eat

The NEW Dragon Fruit Churro is made of a churro rolled in coconut-dragon fruit sugar and is topped with dragon fruit icing.

The churro certainly gets some points for style — just check out the mix of pinks, purples, and whites from the sugar and icing! You’ll totally stand out from the “regular” churro crowd with this one. In terms of taste, though, it was literally just like a regular Disneyland Churro topped with coconut.

We really didn’t taste the dragon fruit. With that being said, though, we still liked it!

Overall

Overall, we thought this churro wasn’t anything special, but we’re never going to turn down ANY churro in Disneyland. If you like coconut, we still think it’s worth the purchase. Just don’t expect to taste any dragon fruit. If you do want to give this treat a try, be sure to stop by Willie’s Churros by February 18th!

Doesn’t it feel like sometimes you’re seeing something at Disney World for the very first time?

We’re not really talking about new attractions, restaurants, or experiences that have just popped up. No, we’re talking about those things that might as well have been Hidden Mickey’s for all the times we’ve passed them like they were hiding in plain sight. Well, we were today years old when we found out that there are some special Disney World guests who have their own private bus stop and we’d never noticed it!

Let’s set the stage. We’re having a lovely time at Disney’s Hollywood Studios when we decide it’s time to take a bus to our next destination. We pull up to the Bus Directory to find out which gate we need to go to like we always do.

We started scanning the sign to figure out our gate when we noticed there was one stop we had never noticed before.

Golden Oak has its own bus stop?? We had to see if this was real or if we were dreaming. On to gate 61!

Side note, if you didn’t know, Golden Oak at Disney World is an upscale residential community that’s located on Disney property and is filled with luxurious homes that are built by Golden Oak Realty and Disney Signature Experiences. They’re incredible homes that are stunning to look at and come at a pretty penny! But, enough about that. Let’s get back to finding that bus stop!

So, we’re making our way to Gate 61 (this section of the bus pickup is typically reserved for rideshare and taxi), when lo and behold, we find what we’re looking for!

Here was the “mystical” Golden Oak bus stop sign. We felt like we had found the golden ticket, but we had to know more.

We spoke with a Cast Member who was nearby and found out that we were not hallucinating or delusional, and that we in fact had found the pickup for Golden Oak. They went on to share that pickups were only done by appointment with a Golden Oak van service. Would you look at that? The more you know.
