There is nothing quite like the breathtaking land of Pandora- The World of Avatar at Walt Disney World. Now more projects are coming to the Disney Parks. Check out the current progress now taking place. Avatar Experiences For several years, guests enjoy the immersive Land of Pandora at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. It is one of […]
Jon Landau, producer of the “Avatar” films directed by James Cameron, shared a photo of himself at Walt Disney Imagineering headquarters on Instagram Wednesday.

Landau captioned the photo, “Had a great day at @waltdisneyimagineering talking about the future.”
Walt Disney World Resort already has a successful “Avatar”-inspired land in Pandora – The World of “Avatar” at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Some kind of “Avatar” experience is planned for Disneyland Resort, which D23 said would be “as amazing” as the Animal Kingdom land, although no further details have been announced. An announcement at the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) Expo indicated the experience would be located in Disney California Adventure, but Disneyland officials later said the location was not confirmed.
When Bob Iger came back a couple weeks ago, I did send him an email and say, ‘You know, we can do ‘Avatar 2’ and 3 motifs and put them into the physical hardware of ‘Avatar Flight of Passage.’ He liked that idea. So nothing has been decided. But, you know, we would like to carry that along and update it from time to time with things that flow back out of the new movies. Because I think there’s a good synergy between the physical base where you can go and just kind of meditate and be on Pandora and how the movies progress the story and bring in new imagery.
James Cameron
It’s possible Landau could have been discussing either one of these projects or something completely new.
Landau also produced “Campus Man” (1987), “Titanic” (1997), “Solaris” (2002), and “Alita: Battle Angel” (2019), and co-produced “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids” (1989) and “Dick Tracy” (1990). But we doubt he was at Imagineering pitching experiences for any of these films. He’s set to produce the next three “Avatar” films.
“Avatar” is the highest-grossing film of all time while the sequel, “Avatar: The Way of Water,” is the third highest. “Avengers: Endgame” is the second highest-grossing film. All three beat out Cameron and Landau’s “Titanic,” which held the title for over 20 years.
Pandora – The World of “Avatar” opened at Disney’s Animal Kingdom on May 27, 2017, replacing Camp Minnie-Mickey. It’s set years after the “Avatar” films, after the native Na’vi people of Pandora and humans have reached peace. Alpha Centauri Expeditions (ACE) is a fictional company that invites humans to explore the Valley of Mo’ara and learn about conservation. The attractions are Avatar Flight of Passage and Na’vi River Journey. Watch our video of the latter below.
Last year, Marvel brought its hit black, white & blood line to a galaxy far, far away with “Star Wars: Darth Vader – Black, White & Red.” Now, another deadly Sith will have his most violent exploits unleashed in this stunning format in “Star Wars: Darth Maul – Black, White & Red!” Hitting stands in April, […]

Back in October, I had the opportunity to attend the DisneylandForward Environmental Review Workshop at the Anaheim City Hall, in Orange County, California. And yesterday, I was present for another public workshop regarding the current initiative to allow Disneyland Resort to expand its theme park space into differently zoned areas of its existing property. What struck me […]
Note that Disney updates its theme park hours fairly regularly, so it’s still a good idea to double-check the hours on the My Disney Experience app the day before you plan to visit the parks, just in case any last-minute changes occur.

Think you handle the HEAT?! If you crave all things spicy, there’s one Disney snack booth that has your name written all over it.
Red Dragon Spice Traders
If you head to Disney California Adventure in Disneyland Resort between January 23rd and February 18th, 2024, you’ll get to celebrate the Lunar New Year there with festive food booths, fun character appearances, merchandise, and more. One Festival booth — Red Dragon Spice Traders — claims to be bringing in some spicy treats that’ll truly honor the Year of the Dragon. But will these set your mouth on fire or just leave you disappointed? Let’s find out!
Menu
At the Red Dragon booth, you’ll find one new snack (the Spicy Fried Rice) and one returning food item (the Red Spice Fried Chicken Bites).

There are also some alcoholic drinks available — again, one new (Peach Basil Collins) and one returning (Guava Whiskey Cocktail) — as well as some little souvenirs. Let’s tackle the food first.
Eats
First, we have the NEW Spicy Fried Rice with tofu and crispy peas. This is priced at $8. We’ve had MANY a fried rice over the years — it’s a staple at places like Yak and Yeti Local Food Cafes in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. So how would this one deliver in terms of flavor?
Spicy Fried Rice
The spicy fried rice is a GREAT veggie option and brought some good heat! We thought it was a little weird to find both regular and dehydrated peas in it, though. The dehydrated ones looked like they could have been in the freezer a bit too long (but they taste fine though.) The tofu had a good texture to it against the rice. This dish was very enjoyable and had lots of flavor.
Next, we have the returning Red Spice Fried Chicken Bites. These are Fried chicken chicharrones in a spicy red chile sauce. They’re priced at $8.75. In 2023, the chicken delivered that kick we were hoping for, leaving our lips with that deliciously tingly burning sensation spicy food leaves behind as you eat more of it. So, how did it taste this year?
Red Spice Fried Chicken Bites
This dish was a WINNER in our book again this year! It’s got a good kick to it, without the spice getting out of control. It did make our noses run a bit though, so watch out for that! It was nice and crispy with great flavor and was a decent-sized portion.
Now, onto the drinks!
Drinks
First, we have a new drink option, the Peach Basil Collins. This is made with Gin, ginger liqueur, white peach purée, lemon juice, and house-made Thai basil syrup. It is then topped with Topo Chico and garnished with a purple pansy. This drink does NOT come cheap though — it’ll set you back $17. Is it worth it?
Peach Basil Collins
We were a little underwhelmed by this one and didn’t feel like it had enough peach flavor to it. It had more of a heavy ginger flavor, however, we also had just eaten lots of spices in the dishes so it could have been hidden by that. It was good to try, but it wasn’t our favorite and we’re not certain we would go back to order it again.
The other drink available at this booth is the returning Guava Whiskey Cocktail. This is made with Whiskey, ginger liqueur, guava nectar, coconut cream, and lime juice. It is then garnished with a lime wheel. This drink is only slightly cheaper at $16. In 2023, we really enjoyed this drink. After we stirred it well (be sure to do that so you don’t just get a swig of whiskey!), we found it was fruity, well-balanced, and not overly sweet.

If you want to add a little pizazz to your drink order, you can also pick up the new Mickey-shaped Macaron Straw Clip here (there’s a limit of 2 per person, per transaction, $7.75 each)…
…or the returning Lotus Flower Glow Cube (there’s a limit of 10 per person, per transaction, $6 each).

Overall
Overall, if you’re looking for a spot that really turns up the HEAT when it comes to savory dishes, and offers a few alcoholic beverages for good measure too, stop by Red Dragon Spice Traders!

We’ll be sharing more reviews for the booths at the Lunar New Year Festival, so stick around for more delicious details!

Let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Disney recently shared a roundup of allll the latest Minnie ears released in the parks and resorts, including those new Stitch ears, the Evil Queen ears, the 2024 Brave New World ears, and more. January isn’t even over yet, and we’ve already seen a TON of new merchandise in the parks. For all you collectors out there, be prepared for a BUSY year.
Stitch ears!
Here’s a peek at some of the most recent Minnie ears we’ve seen at the parks and resorts. This one has a retro Mickey and Minnie print with a colorful sequined bow. How cute!

Speaking of sequins, take a look at these SHINY new Snow White-inspired ears. They match Snow White’s signature dress with a simple red bow in the center.
Snow White Ears
Now, here’s where things get interesting. Disney shared some clever hints about FIVE new ears debuting in 2024. Here’s what to look out for:
Paint Brush
Bag of Flour
Dragon
Magic Staff
Sewing Needle
Fantasyland
Time to put on your detective hats, people! Let’s start placing our bets. First of all, all five of those ears sound like they would come straight from the kingdom of Fantasyland. A dragon? Could it be Maleficent? Magic Staff? That sounds like it could belong to Merlin, Jafar, or even King Magnifico!
Maleficient in Festival of Fantasy
We know a few mice who know how to use a sewing needle. (Looking at you, Suzy and Perla!)
Cinderella’s Fountain
OK, we have a theory on the Bag of Flour. Remember the scene in Sleeping Beauty where Fauna tries to make a cake for Aurora? Well, she tried her best, but we bet she used (at least) one bag of flour during her foray into baking.
Some of these clues could be a Red Herring, though! After all, Mushu is a dragon, too. And Rapunzel spent a loooot of time in her tower sewing (and painting with a paintbrush… ).
Mulan & Mushu in Disneyland
Disney hasn’t shared when these new ears will arrive, so keep your eyes out for new souvenirs! Check out our video below for more Magic Kingdom news.
In the meantime, we’re always on the lookout for the latest Disney news, so stay tuned for more.
