Disney has released a first look at the artwork in the new Royal Banquet Restaurant at Disneyland Paris, featuring princesses, villains, and more.
The restaurant opens on January 25 at the Disneyland Hotel in Paris.
1. Once Upon a Time…
In the Prologue dining room, guests will be able to rediscover their favorite characters at their origins, as they are ready to embark on their royal journey.
Whether it’s Arthur from “The Sword in the Stone” rightfully taking his place on the throne with Merlin by his side or young Kida from “Atlantis: The Lost Empire” and her parents before that fateful day when the Queen saved her people — there’s a story for everyone!
Some depictions take on an even more authentic form, like the family of Merida from the Pixar Animation Studios film “Brave” weaved on an authentic tapestry with a unique design. To bring their vision to life, Imagineers called on the expertise of craftsmen at Tissage des Flandres, a workshop located in the heart of the historic textile basin of Northern France that has been creating top-of-the-range tapestries for over 130 years.
2. Delight in the Chefs’ Buffet
While you’ll be making hard choices at the sumptuous buffet, look above on the walls as they display characters famous for their culinary masterpieces (or legendary kitchen disasters)!
These Disney chefs are displaying their most celebrated recipes, including Boun from “Raya and the Last Dragon” cooking his delicious shrimp congee and Kronk from “The Emperor’s New Groove” proudly serving his iconic spinach puffs.
Some have, however, varying degrees of success like Fauna the good fairy from “Sleeping Beauty” “baking” Aurora’s birthday cake!
3. Mirror, Mirror on the wall, who’s the most villain of them all?
Evil royalty will also make its way as it takes over one of the spaces called the Antechamber. As part of the villainous line-up, guests will be able to admire the charming and confident King Magnifico from “Wish,” the tricky King Candy from “Wreck-it Ralph” or the cold Queen from “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.”
4. Saddle Up for this Portrait Collection
The last room of the restaurant is called the Carousel, because of its shape and the portraits that decorate it, paying tribute to Disney’s proud steeds!
With postures that reflect their personalities, you can admire portraits of traditional Disney Animation mounts, from “Tangled’s” Maximus to Khan from “Mulan” and even the most unlikely, like Sven from “Frozen” – and even Abu from “Aladdin”!
To top off this king and queen-worthy fare, The Royal Banquet will also provide the chance to meet and dine at lunch and dinner with Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and their friends decked out in their finest new and exclusive regal attire.
