The 2024 EPCOT International Festival of the Arts has several art-based activities and performances to entertain guests. In addition to the paint-by-numbers Expression Section, Chalk Full of Characters, Wonderful Walk of Colorful Cuisine, Figment’s Brush with the Masters Scavenger Hunt, and the Disney on Broadway Concert Series, guests can experience chalk art and live painting demonstrations.
Chalk Art
Chalk art by professional artists will be visible behind stanchions on the main bridge to World Showcase. Note that the chalk art will change frequently as it fades and washes away and artists draw new pieces. The first day of the festival was a little rainy, so there was only one work of art.
This cubist-style piece depicts Mickey’s loyal dog Pluto in shades of yellow, blue, orange, and green. Pluto was first introduced as an unnamed dog in the 1930 short film “The Chain Gang.”
The signatures below this Pluto piece indicate it is by artists Sydney, Kate, and Leigh. Depending on when you stop by the festival, you may see the artists working on their pieces.
Kids’ Chalk Art
Kids can draw their own chalk art on the sidewalk in this area. A sign featuring Figment points to the space and chalk is provided by Cast Members. Kids (and adults) can draw on the ground or on a black chalkboard. The experience was still open during the cloudy weather.
This space used to be the home base of Kim Possible: World Showcase Adventure. The game was replaced with Agent P’s World Showcase Adventure, which was in turn replaced with DuckTales World Showcase Adventure. The game can be played through the Disney Parks Play app and guests no longer need to visit a kiosk to sign up.
Visual Art in Performance
Throughout the day, guests can enjoy live music and art performances in World Showcase Plaza. The plaza is near the lagoon at the end of the World Showcase bridge, between Gateway Gifts and Port of Entry. A stage features giant swooshes of paint coming out of tubes.
Exact performance times are posted on a sign in front of the stage. This was the schedule on opening day of the 2024 EPCOT International Festival of the Arts, but check the My Disney Experience app for exact showtimes on the day you visit:

Carlton painted a large Figment piece on opening day of the festival. Figment has become a mascot of EPCOT and of the Festival of the Arts specifically. For the festival, the Odyssey Pavilion has been transformed into Figment’s Inspiration Station, where guests can purchase an Imagination Pavilion Figment popcorn bucket and a Figment-inspired blueberry-filled pastry tart.
The 2024 EPCOT International Festival of the Arts merchandise collection also features Figment on shirts, pins, Lug bags, and more. Guests can participate in Figment’s Brush with the Masters Scavenger Hunt to find works of art featuring the purple dragon and win a prize at the end.
Carlton’s Figment painting was a close-up look at the star of Journey Into Imagination. Figment is smiling against a blue and green ombre background. Carlton finished the painting off with some white splatters.
Some of Carlton’s art is available for purchase at the Disney Fine Art booth near the Mexico Pavilion as well as on the Disney Fine Art website and TrevorCarltonArt.com.
