During an opening ceremony on Tuesday, Disney officially revealed the Pixar Place Hotel lobby, including a giant Luxo Jr. statue. We’ve explored much of the lobby as the hotel was slowly transformed from Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel but the statue teased in concept art has remained hidden.

The statue is in the middle of a marble floor. Luxo Jr., from the 1986 Pixar short film of the same name, is depicted on top of the iconic red, yellow, and blue ball. Both the ball and Luxo Jr. have become the icons of Pixar Animation Studios and subsequently this hotel.
The balconies are covered in light-up panels with black borders. Hanging above the statues are character mobiles depicting various famous Pixar characters in minimalist stained glass.
Characters attending the hotel’s opening included Mr. Incredible, Elastigirl, Edna Mode, Frozone, and Sulley. Bing Bong and Joy from “Inside Out” also appeared to announce Bing Bong would make exclusive appearances at Pixar Place Hotel. Joe Gardner from “Soul” will also perform jazz music at the hotel.
Pixar Place Hotel has a soundtrack now available on streaming services. Check out our tour of a standard room and the new Pixar Place Hotel merchandise.
