DreamWorks Land is scheduled to open this year at Universal Studios Florida, so we’ve been keeping a close eye on the construction. A few things are visible over the construction walls, including the large tree stump that will be part of Shrek’s Swamp. Over the construction walls, we can see the large tree stump is now being prepped with several base coats of paint.

Taking a look at Shrek’s house, the tree stump is still surrounded by scaffolding, but paint has been added to the tree trunk. Over the last few days, we’ve seen a few different base coats applied, so it should start getting its final paint soon.
Shrek’s Swamp is very close to the entrance of the E.T. Adventure. As you get closer to the attraction, you can see even more additions to the new land over the construction walls.
It looks like this will be another playground area, now themed to Shrek. Several posts and railings are visible just over the top of the construction walls.
This area was previously a playground themed to the animated film, “An American Tail.” Fievel’s Playland was a large area for kids and even included a water slide. Take a look at Fievel’s Playland before the closure.
KidZone officially closed in January of 2023 to make room for the new DreamWorks-themed land. Construction seems to be moving at a steady pace, but no opening timeframe has been given.
