The depressed donkey who always expects the worst in any situation found himself the unexpected hero during an earthquake warning at Tokyo Disneyland. In an Instagram reel from user jasnhill, Eeyore calms guests and shows them how to stay safe at the park.
Eeyore Calms Guests During Earthquake Warning at Tokyo Disneyland
In the reel, the park audio announces, “Attention: Prepare for a small earthquake.”
On Monday, the deadliest earthquake to hit Japan with a 7.6 magnitude in Ishikawa prefecture, about 450 kilometers northwest of Tokyo.
Then, the park’s music resumes. Guests are in position on the ground. Aftershocks are frequent and expected following earthquakes in Japan; about 200 tremors have occurred since the initial earthquake, many felt long distances from the earthquake’s epicenter, according to Reuters.
Eeyore demonstrates covering your head to protect from fallen debris and makes calming motions to the guests around him, who are all in position for the earthquake.
Eeyore spins and makes sure that the park guests are following safe practices for the warning, repeating his gestures from several angles.
