The shadow effect of the Seven Dwarfs marching on Seven Dwarfs Mine Train in Magic Kingdom has been updated.
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train can be found in the heart of Fantasyland, across from The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh.
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train Shadow Effect
The shadow effect is about halfway through the ride, at the end of the interior mine section. The shadows depict the dwarfs marching as they sing “Heigh-Ho.” The new effect has rotoscoped directly from “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.”
The resulting shadows are much clearer and more distinct. See them in motion in our video of the ride below, at the 1:20 time stamp.
For comparison, below is our 2016 video of Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. The original shadow effect can be seen at 2:00, although it is barely clear.
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train opened at Magic Kingdom as part of the New Fantasyland expansion in 2014. It was also an opening day attraction at Shanghai Disneyland in 2016. Some of the figures in the finale scene were recycled from Snow White’s Scary Adventures, which closed in 2012 to be replaced by Princess Fairytale Hall.
