Some things are changing in Disney World in 2024.
Fort Wilderness cabin
First, we’re getting ANOTHER brand new ride with Tiana’s Bayou Attraction. But a lot of changes are happening at Disney World hotels, too. We’re talking new rooms, new restaurants, and more. Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground, though, is getting some brand new Disney Vacation Club (DVC) cabins, but we’ve got a word of warning before you get TOO excited about those.
We recently got some new details about these new DVC cabins and we even know that they’ll be open as of July 1st, 2024. The cabins will sleep up to six adults and will have a bedroom, bathroom, living room, full kitchen, and private patio. Some of the cabins will even be dog-friendly.

So we bet your next question about these cabins is how much they will cost. We got a look at the points costs for these cabins for DVC members…and well, they’re not the most expensive DVC rentals on-property, they’re also not the cheapest. We’d say they’re probably mid-range. As you can see, you’ll spend anywhere from 111 points per week to 232 points per week for one of these cabins, depending on when you stay. Nightly rates run from 15 to 36 points per night.

By comparison, Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort costs 159 to 351 points per week for a room that sleeps up to five people. Saratoga Springs is probably the “cheapest” of the DVC resorts, so Fort Wilderness might be the better DVC value. However, at other Disney World resorts, you generally have more variety when it comes to types of rooms, so if you need something smaller or larger, a stay at Fort Wilderness might not be right for you.

We’ll also be curious to see how these new villas will compare in price as DVC rentals. But it looks like the Fort Wilderness cabins could be just the right fit for a lot of Disney World visitors.
