A new dessert, the Upside-down Pineapple Bread Pudding, has hit the menu at Aunt Cass Cafe in San Fransokyo Square at Disney California Adventure. Is it worth a stop, or should you skip? Read on for our review.
Upside-down Pineapple Bread Pudding – $7.29
pineapple chunks, cherries, pineapple custard, caramel creme anglaise, and pinepple-flavored whipped topping
This is an extraordinarily heavy and shareable dessert. It’s incredibly dense, and the cake is packed full of real pineapple chunks and flavor.
It tastes as though you’ve bitten into a full, fresh pineapple, but with the added sweetness of the cake, sauce, and whipped topping.
It’s really quite good, and we suggest bringing a few friends or family members to San Fransokyo Square to share this behemoth treat. We’d rate it a perfect 7 out of 7.
Aunt Cass Cafe
Aunt Cass Cafe in San Fransokyo Square is named after Hiro’s Aunt Cass from “Big Hero 6,” who is his guardian. In the comics and the animated feature film, Cass does, in fact, run a cafe — though it’s called the Lucky Cat Cafe. According to the theming for the recently reimagined land, this is her second location. We reviewed every item on the menu when the dining location first opened.
The land, which was previously Pacific Wharf, opened to guests on August 31, 2023. In the land, guests can enjoy many new food items like the one we reviewed above, meet Baymax and Hiro, and purchase merchandise from the San Fransokyo Square Maker’s Market.
The famous gyoza sausage bun from Tokyo DisneySea was recently added to the menu at San Fransokyo Cerveceria. Read our review.
