RUMOR: Disney Phasing Out Spirit Jerseys Due to High Production Costs, Replacing Offering with New ‘Celebration Crew’ Sweatshirts

If you’ve visited Walt Disney World in the past day or so, you might have spotted a new apparel offering, “Celebration Crew” sweatshirts. New reports indicate that these styles will soon replace Disney’s Spirit Jersey offerings, which are being phased out due to high costs.

According to sources, Disney’s merchandising teams are slowly phasing out the Spirit Jersey offerings, as they have become too costly to manufacture.

As the Celebration Crews are a new offering, it could take some time before we see Spirit Jerseys completely disappear. Even this week, new Spirit Jerseys for both adults and youth were released.

We also spotted this new black Walt Disney World Celebration Crew, which could easily be confused for a Spirit Jersey.

Both have the puffy ink print on the back shoulders and front left breast, but the Celebration Crew is missing the outside seam along the breast line.
