ABC News reports the heaviest rainfall will happen Sunday, February 4th, and Monday, February 5th, with “up to 1 inch per hour possible during the peak.” Prepare for extended rainfall throughout the weekend and “flooding in high-populated areas.” Per the National Weather Service, even low projections are calling for heavy rain that will likely produce damaging flooding.
The Sheriff of Barbara County, Sheriff Bill Brown, stated, “This storm is predicted to be one of the largest and most significant storms in the history of our county,” according to ABC News.
Additionally, meteorologists are warning California residents to prepare for damaging winds with gusts between 60-80 mph on Sunday. A flood watch is currently in effect in Southwest California, including Orange County, which is where Disneyland Resort is located.
