Disney+ has released the first trailer for “X-Men 97,” a continuation of “X-Men: The Animated Series” that ran from 1992 to 1997.

The series was originally set to release last year but will now premiere on Disney+ on March 20, 2024. The first season will have 10 episodes.
The trailer, which you can watch below, shows that the new series picks up right where the original series left off nearly 30 years ago.
Much of the original voice cast is returning for “X-Men 97,” including Cathal J. Dodd as Wolverine, Lenore Zann as Rogue, Alison Sealy-Smith as Storm, George Buza as Beast, Adrian Hough as Nightcrawler, and Christopher Britton as Mister Sinister.
Ray Chase takes over the role of Cyclops from Norm Spencer, who passed away in 2020. Also new to the cast are A.J. LoCascio as Gambit, Holly Chou as Jubilee, Jennifer Hale as Jean Grey, Ross Marquand as Professor X, Matthew Waterson as Magneto, and J.P. Karliak as Morph.
Morph’s appearance has been altered to be more like their look in the “Age of Apocalypse” comic storyline and they will now be non-binary. (via Gizmodo)
Some original voice actors will voice different characters instead. Catherine Disher, who originally voiced Jean Grey, will voice Valerie Cooper. Chris Potter, the original Gambit, takes over the role of Cable from Lawrence Bayne, who will now voice X-Cutioner. Alyson Court will play Abcissa, an alternate version of Jubilee, who she previously voiced. Ron Rubin, the original voice of Morph, will play President Robert Kelly.
“X-Men 97” is created by Beau DeMayo. DeMayo also serves as head writer and an executive producer. Jake Castorena is the supervising director. Other executive producers are Kevin Feige, Brad Winderbaum, Louis D’Esposito, and Victoria Alonso. It’s produced by Marvel Studios Animation with animation by Studio Mir.
