FULL REVIEW of the Festival Booth That’s HIDING in EPCOT

Florida Fresh

We’ve been snacking around EPCOT at this year’s Flower & Garden Festival, but we had to stop and talk about this one booth that’s HIDING!

We’re talking about Florida Fresh — one of the Outdoor Kitchens (also known as Food Booths) at the park’s springtime celebration! The Florida Fresh booth is located over near the Imagination pavilion, but that’s NOT where you’ll find the food. Confused? Let us explain.

Florida Fresh Booth

When we hopped over to the Florida Fresh booth, a Cast Member informed us that the booth itself wasn’t quite ready to open yet, so there’s a temporary Florida Fresh booth located at the Odyssey pavilion instead! It’s the same menu that will be at the booth in the future, just in a different spot, so it’s easy to accidentally MISS this booth!

Menu

At the Florida Fresh booth, you’ll find a variety of returning and new items. We were glad to see Florida Fresh return last year after a brief hiatus since 2020, so we have been excited to give this one a try!

2024 Menu

This booth is full of new items, and we can’t wait to dig in!

Eats

Did someone say Grilled Warm Water Lobster Tail?! If lobster tail wasn’t enticing enough, it comes with Key lime butter. You can grab this tasty dish for $11.25. Interestingly enough, we didn’t get any of the key lime flavor or butter. It was creamy, but not flavorful.

Some pieces of the lobster were tender, but there were still a lot of tendons and shell pieces, meaning this was very difficult to eat. We had to pull it apart with our fingers to get to the good bits and there’s quite a bit of inedible stuff left over. It WAS tasty, but way too much work.

Hard to eat

Lobster is a tough act to follow, but this next dish has brought its A-game! Mojo-marinated pork belly, ham, Swiss cheese, pickles, and stone ground mustard sauce are all coming together for the Cubanito! Grab it for $6.50. So this is basically a Cuban sandwich, albeit a good one.

The bread was toasted and it was a bit on the crunchy side. There was also a lot of meat, but the pickle and mustard gave it a bit of tang. We thought it was delicious!

Ready for something sweet? Let’s dig into the Florida Strawberry Shortcake for $5. But you can leave your guilt at the door with this fruity dessert because it’s plant-based! This dish is also eligible for a stamp if you’re attempting to complete the Garden Graze food crawl. This was literally just a piece of cake with strawberries and whipped topping.

Strawberry Shortcake

We did admire the whipped topping for not melting on us, even after sitting in the hot sun for a while. The cake itself was dense, but not dry. It’s just a regular strawberry shortcake, though. Nothing to see here…moving along…

And to go along with your dishes…

Drinks

Raise a glass of Cucumber-Watermelon Slushy for $5. This just keeps the theme of this booth going: basic. We did like that the watermelon did not taste artificial. We could also taste the cucumber, which brightens up the drink and makes it fresh. It is, however, a little small.

You can also add some gin to transform this into a cocktail for $13.

OVERALL

About the only thing we can say about this booth is that it’s fine. There are no real standouts here, and we wouldn’t eat the lobster again because it’s entirely too complicated to eat. The Cubanito is great if you just want a sandwich, but there are so many other interesting savory dishes to try at the festival. The same goes for the strawberry shortcake and drink. It’s just all a little too basic.

The best news — even if none of these bites appeal you, you can come back in a few weeks and try the next items on this rotating dining menu!
