VIDEO: Tokyo DisneySea Unveils Preview Tour of Fantasy Springs

We are now just 100 days away from Fantasy Springs opening at Tokyo DisneySea, and Oriental Land Company has released several videos touring the eighth themed port at Tokyo DisneySea in its current state of progress. The giant land will include four new rides in three sub-lands: Peter Pan’s Never Land, Rapunzel’s Forest, and Frozen Kingdom.

Fantasy Springs Overview

The first video reveals the entrance to Fantasy Springs, featuring giant rock formations of Peter Pan, Anna, Elsa, and Rapunzel. It also takes guests on a quick jaunt across the entire port, even to the Fantasy Springs Hotel with its rock formation of Sorcerer Mickey Mouse standing just outside.

Frozen Kingdom

Frozen Kingdom brings to life the world from the Disney Animation film Frozen. In the blissful world that unfolded after the film’s finale, guests are invited to visit the kingdom of Arendelle, enveloped in a warm and celebratory atmosphere. This is where Elsa, who had hidden her magical ability to create ice and snow, finally embraced her power as an integral part of herself and gained the freedom to wield magic effortlessly with the power of “true love.”

In Anna and Elsa’s Frozen Journey, guests board a boat and enjoy the heartwarming tale of Anna and Elsa, accompanied by the original film’s well-known songs. Additionally, guests can dine at the Royal Banquet of Arendelle restaurant, or stop by Oaken’s OK Foods, the small, cheerful eatery run by Oaken. The buildings feature rosemaling (decorative Norwegian folk art) embellishments and iceinspired geometric designs, immersing guests in the world of Frozen

Rapunzel’s Forest

In Rapunzel’s Forest, guests will be transported into the world of the Disney Animation film, Tangled, where the long-haired princess Rapunzel has lived since she was a child. Here, guests can enjoy Rapunzel’s Lantern Festival, the first attraction in the Disney park around the world to bring the story of Rapunzel to life, and embark on a romantic journey aboard a boat. Along the way, guests will encounter Rapunzel and the legendary thief, Flynn Rider, and see their love blossom at the Lantern Festival. Guests can also stop by for a meal at The Snuggly Duckling restaurant, which is inspired by the tavern frequented by the ruffians in the film.

Peter Pan’s Never Land

Peter Pan’s Never Land invites guests to explore the world of the Disney Animation film, Peter Pan. In the attraction Peter Pan’s Never Land Adventure, guests join the Lost Kids, a group of fun-loving and adventurous children, and take part in an epic adventure through Never Land with Peter Pan and Tinker Bell to rescue John from Captain Hook and his band of pirates. Guests can also stop by for a meal at Lookout Cookout, a restaurant created by the Lost Kids. At Fairy Tinker Bell’s Busy Buggies in Pixie Hollow, the fairy valley, guests can experience riding in a buggy made by Tinker Bell.

BREAKING: Peter Pan’s Never Land Adventure Confirmed As 3-D Ride

We are now just 100 days away from Fantasy Springs opening at Tokyo DisneySea, and Oriental Land Company has released a number of exciting new details about this eighth themed port for what is considered the best Disney theme park on Earth. Now, we know a little bit more about this never-before-seen attraction.

Peter Pan’s Never Land Adventure

Thanks to the concept art above, we can now confirm that the ride is presented in a 3-D format. Speculation insinuated that this will be like Avatar – Flight of Passage at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, but in a somewhat different configuration as one single boat can sit up to 12 guests. Whether or not that is completely correct, we will will have to wait and see. This vehicle was revealed by Disney Imagineers at the D23 Expo in 2022.

The official description of the ride is as follows:

In this attraction, guests join Peter Pan, Tinker Bell and the Lost Kids on an epic adventure through Never Land to rescue John from Captain Hook and his band of pirates. When Peter Pan informs guests that John has been kidnapped by Captain Hook and his pirate crew, they board a boat and set off on an adventure. Tinker Bell then sprinkles fairy dust on the boat, allowing guests to soar into the sky. During their journey, guests encounter Wendy, Michael, the mermaids, Tiger Lily and other beloved characters from the film. During their travels, guests will discover Captain Hook’s moored ship, the Jolly Roger, and look on as a battle with the pirates ensues.

This attraction will be about 6 minutes in length and guests must be 102 cm or over to ride.

New concept art for the interior of the Tangled boat ride attraction can be seen above, with guest’s heading towards the Kingdom of Corona in a boat. This vehicle was revealed by Disney Imagineers at the D23 Expo in 2022.

The current description of the ride is as follows:

In this attraction, guests enjoy a romantic gondola tour that leads to the annual Lantern Festival, where they follow Rapunzel as she experiences her “best day ever” and meets Flynn Rider for the first time. Rapunzel escapes from the tower and with Flynn Rider at her side, the two develop a strong bond as they visit various locations featured in the film. Rapunzel and Flynn Rider go on to sing “I See the Light,” and guests are enveloped by the glow of countless lanterns filling the night sky.

BREAKING: New Frozen Ride Will Retell Story from the Movie, Feature Conflict with Hans

We are just 100 days away from Fantasy Springs opening at Tokyo DisneySea, so the Oriental Land Company has taken this opportunity to release new details about this eighth themed port for what is considered the best Disney theme park on Earth. In this post, we’ll chronicle exciting new updates on the Frozen Kingdom, mainly the Anna and Elsa’s Frozen Journey ride.

Frozen Kingdom

Anna and Elsa’s Frozen Journey is an attraction that will be found nowhere else in the world, completely different from Frozen Ever After at EPCOT, Hong Kong Disneyland, or even the upcoming version at Walt Disney Studios Paris. In today’s release, OLC confirmed this and also shared that is is a retelling of the movie’s story with all new scenes, characters, and audio-animatronics:

In the Anna and Elsa’s Frozen Journey attraction, guests set out on a voyage by boat that leads them through the events of Frozen. Through this voyage, guests will enjoy an adventurous and heartwarming tale of two sisters with themes of true love. Grand Pabbie, the leader of the trolls, first draws guests into the world of the film as he tells the tale of Anna and Elsa to two young trolls, bringing the sisters’ childhood memories back to life with an iridescent light through his magic. Guests then embark on a journey through the sisters’ memories, accompanied by well-known songs from the film, including “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?,” “For the First Time in Forever” and “Love Is an Open Door,” the duet sung by Anna and Hans at the top of the clock tower. Guests will also be able to enjoy the fan-favorite “Let It Go,” sung by Elsa as she climbs North Mountain, where she creates an ice palace with her powers. The climax of the attraction depicts Anna turning to ice in an attempt to save Elsa from Hans. In Anna and Elsa’s Frozen Journey, guests can look forward to seeing how the events of the story play out, while delighting in a tale of adventure and true love.

A single piece of concept art of the interior of the attraction was released, showing the scene where Anna sings “For The First Time in Forever” inside the palace.

6 NEW Updates on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Disney World

Disney recently announced that Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Magic Kingdom will now be opening in the summer of 2024!

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure

When the ride re-theme had initially been announced its opening timeline was set for late 2024. Now that Disney has moved up the opening date (we’re still waiting for a specific date to be announced), we can’t help but keep track of all the new updates we’ve been seeing!

We stop by Tiana’s Bayou Adventure every time we visit Magic Kingdom (which is A LOT), and we’ve started to see some BIG updates happening. Let’s go through six of the most recent (and some of the BIGGEST) changes to the ride that we’ve noticed on the outside.

Log Changes

The plan for the ride vehicles on the new ride is that the same logs from Splash Mountain will be used. However, we recently saw a change to the logs. While they were lined up at the bottom of the drop, we noticed the fronts of the logs were completely empty. Br’er Rabbit used to be on the front, but he has seemingly been removed from all the logs.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Ride Vehicles

For comparison, here is what the logs looked like before when they were being used for Splash Mountain.

Splash Mountain ride vehicles

We don’t know if Disney plans to add Princess and the Frog characters to the logs or simply leave them blank, but we’ll be watching for any other changes!

Blank logs for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure

Water Is Flowing

If you stop by Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, you may notice water in the ride track outside!

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure filled with water

Water in the track is a HUGE step in the right direction towards opening! We know that the ride will use the same track as Splash Mountain, and the fact that there is water in it, means we’re certainly getting closer to enjoying the new ride.

Ride Testing

Water in the track also means that Disney can test the ride! Ride testing has been occurring at night, and we caught a glimpse of it while in Magic Kingdom one evening.

The log changes, water in the track, and ride testing are significant milestones for the ride and certainly indications that we’re nearing opening day.

Scaffolding

When construction began on the facade of the mountain, there was A LOT of scaffolding put up — like a ton of scaffolding.

Look at all that scaffolding!

But most recently, much of it has come down! It looks like most of the greenery has been added, and they are beginning to bring down the scaffolding as they work on other areas of the mountain.

There’s far less scaffolding now.

You’ll still find lots of signs of the construction going on, but it looks like things are slowly getting done!

A Hidden Mickey Has Disappeared

If you’re a Hidden Mickey hunter, you may remember finding the Hidden Mickey located right at the peak of the big hill just before tumbling over the side. It appeared to be a profile view of Mickey Mouse that was made out of the rock formation.

Hidden Mickey

Now, the main rock on the outside of the ride that made up Mickey’s nose has been removed which we anticipate means that we will no longer find this Hidden Mickey when we go over the hill and down the slope.

Comparison of the fronts of the two rides.

It would be neat to see other Hidden Mickeys added around this ride, so we’ll be on the lookout for them as soon as we can journey through the bayou with Tiana!

Greenery on a Tree Trunk

A little while back there was speculation on the internet that a tree stump that was added to the mountain was a tribute to the huge tree that used to sit on top of Splash Mountain.

The stump

We never received true confirmation on whether or not the stump was in memory of the old ride, but we may have our answer now. We saw, on our last trip to Magic Kingdom, that the stump is now completely covered in greenery, to the point that you may not have even realized it was a stump at all.

There’s the stump covered in greenery

If it is a tribute to Splash Mountain, it’s very subtle. Perhaps it’s just simply more decor that has no meaning at all. We may have to wait to find out more (if there is more to learn at all).
