If you were planning on getting some pool time in on your trip in 2024, you’ll want to know about the pool closures happening at Caribbean Beach. The Fuentes del Morro pool, which is the pool closest to the hotel’s main lobby, will be closed through April for refurbishment.
Fuentes del Morro pool
However, Caribbean Beach has five other pools that visitors will be able to swim in during that time, but note that they could mean a bit of a hike from your room depending on where it’s located (Caribbean Beach is HUGE, y’all).
Another pool closure will affect Port Orleans — French Quarter. The Doubloon Lagoon pool will be closed through April. Visitors will be allowed to use the pool at Port Orleans — Riverside just next door, but that could be a bit of a hike just for some pool time.
Doubloon Lagoon Pool
So if you’re planning to stay at Port Orleans — French Quarter and want to use the pool while there, you may want to consider booking a stay at Port Orleans — Riverside instead.
However, those villas are expected to open later in 2024, so if you’re interested in staying there, you might want to keep an eye out for an opening date.
However, two NEW dining spots are coming to the Boardwalk, The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers is currently under construction and set to open this year. Disneyland’s Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs will also be making a trek east and opening a location on the Boardwalk sometime in 2024.
Another hotel that’s been getting some new updated rooms is Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. The lobby is also getting a refresh. There is a currently LOT of construction going on at this hotel right now, so you may hear noise during the day.
Disney’s newest DVC property will be opening this summer at Fort Wilderness Resort. The Cabins at Fort Wilderness Resort have received some new fun updates and are now available for select DVC members to book.
The cabins will sleep up to six adults and will have a bedroom, bathroom, living room, full kitchen, and private patio. A select number of cabins will also be dog-friendly.

Walt Disney World has updated their cancelation policy for 2025 hotel stays, which opens for bookings tomorrow, February 27.
2025 Hotel Cancelation Policy
Currently, guests can cancel room-only reservations up to five days before arrival without a penalty. Beginning in 2025, the cancelation window will be changed to up to eight days before arrival. If guests cancel less than eight days before arrival, they will forfeit their deposit, which is the cost of one night.
The cancelation policy for vacation packages that include hotel rooms and park tickets has not changed. Guests can cancel the entire package up to 30 days before their arrival date for a full refund. Guests can cancel from two to 29 days but will be charged a $200 fee. Canceling the day before or the day of the arrival will mean forfeiting the entire package cost.
ESPN has resigned one of their premiere voices on the network. What’s Happening: NFL Analyst, Ryan Clark, has resigned with ESPN to continue his presence on the network. Beginning tomorrow February 27th, 2024, guests can start booking their 2025 Disney World Vacation Packages. With that said, 2025 room reservations will look a little different than they do now, though — according to an official Disney press release, 2025 arrivals for room-only reservations can cancel their reservations UP TO EIGHT (8) DAYS before their arrival without penalty.
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort
Previously, reservations could be canceled up to five days before to avoid penalty, so this change does restrict Disney World hotel guests a bit more than in years past. Canceling 0-7 days out from the reservation will result in the forfeiture of the deposit (the cost of a one-night stay).
The Big Blue Pool at Art of Animation
Disney representation confirmed that the Vacation Packages cancelation policy has not changed.
The current Vacation Package policy is as follows:
If you book your resort reservation in a Vacation Package (the resort reservation includes a room and park tickets), you can cancel the entire package up to 30 days out from your arrival date for a full refund. From 2 to 29 days, you can cancel but will be penalized a $200 cancelation fee (prices are subject to change). If you cancel the day before or on the day of your arrival, the penalty is a complete forfeiture of the entire package cost.
It’s important to note that changes to a package that includes a hotel stay will impact the entire package — meaning you can’t single out the hotel when canceling.
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
Also being included in the 2025 Disney World Vacation Packages is FREE water park access on the day of arrival. That means on the day you check in you can hop over to Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park or Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park (whichever is open) to get your vacation started even faster — free of charge!

Disney World has LOTS of hotel offerings. You can choose one of their value resorts, moderate resorts, or deluxe resorts for your stay. Each resort has its own perks such as proximity to the Skyliner or even walking distance to a park.
Every guest who stays at a Disney World hotel can go to the parks 30 minutes before the regular park opening time with early theme park entry. This perk takes rope dropping to another level and allows you to have a little extra time in the parks before everyone else.
EPCOT
If you choose to stay at a Disney Deluxe Resort or Deluxe Villa Resort, you can get even more park time with Extended Evening Hours! These extra hours will continue in 2025 and give you extra evening time after the official park closing time. Extended Evening Hours are available in one park on scheduled dates. You can check the Disney World app or website to find out which parks and which dates the extra hours will be available during your stay.
Tower of Terror
We’re excited to see these hotel perks getting extended into 2025, so don’t forget to start booking your Disney World vacations soon!

Disney World is the Most Magical Place on Earth and no one knows that better than Disney Adults. In fact, there’s a reason (okay — there are LOTS of reasons) why they feel that way. Let’s face it — Disney World can be just as expensive, if not more, than a full-fledged European vacation including airfare and decent hotels. It’s no secret that trips to the House of Mouse don’t come cheap — so why do they keep ignoring the latest vacation trends?
Disney World
We think it can be summed up by this TikTok that has been making the rounds:
If you’ve ever traveled with a Disney Adult outside of a Disney park, then you’ve potentially heard the words, “They have that at EPCOT.” And, in most cases, it’s probably true. Of course, we know EPCOT is nothing like seeing the real thing — but when it comes down to it, most of the time Disney Adults really just don’t care. We don’t mean to generalize, as there are plenty of well-traveled Disney Adults. But, they are still Disney Adults after all.
Hello from EPCOT!
One thing Disney Adults have in common is that when we walk through the park gates and we find ourselves on Main Street, U.S.A., we suddenly believe in magic because we’re surrounded by it. Of course, we know it’s just a person in a costume, but we can suspend our disbelief and have enough fun to feel like a kid again for a few hours.
Tower of Terror
Not only that, but for many Disney Adults, the parks bring a sense of nostalgia to the forefront. Growing up going to Disney World is a privilege, and we don’t think many take it for granted — otherwise, they wouldn’t have such a deep appreciation for the parks all these years later!
The Disney fandom has been likened to a religion, and it’s that shared sense of tradition and love for the parks that keeps Disney Adults coming back again and again — even when the hottest new vacation spot is halfway across the globe. And, when it comes to deciding where you want to go on your next vacation, don’t let anyone give you any gruff about going to Disney World! It’s your money and your time, so use it as you see it!

Art of Animation Hotel
We also spotted an important update you might want to know about as well. Disney has updated its cancelation policy for 2025. For 2025 arrivals, room-only reservations can be canceled without penalty until 8 days before arrival, which is slightly less time than the previous 5-day limit.
Disney’s Rivera Resort
Disney recently announced that in 2025, those staying at Disney Resorts will have complimentary access to the water parks on their arrival day. You’ll be able to use this perk at either Blizzard Beach Water Park or Typhoon Lagoon Water Park and only on your check-in day. You can read more here.
