Walt Disney World Selling Lorcana Illumineer’s Trove for First Time & More: Daily Recap (2/23/24)
Disney Lorcana: Into the Inklands launches at Walt Disney World, lights testing in CommuniCore Plaza, and theme park hours extended at Walt Disney World — all this and more in today’s daily recap for Friday, February 23, 2024.
Walt Disney World
EPCOT
- Crews are now testing lights on the awning around CommuniCore Plaza in EPCOT.
- Props and set pieces have been added to Living With the Land at EPCOT ahead of the 2024 EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival, which begins next week.
- The new kiosks added to World Celebration Gardens recently got new Festival Market signage added.
- The Odyssey Pavilion has been decked out in its “The Citrus Blossom” decor for the 2024 EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival.
Disney Springs
- Disney Lorcana: Into the Inklands launched today at Disney Parks, and we lined up at Disney Springs to pick up our products to find that Walt Disney World is selling more Lorcana products than ever for this launch.

- Walt Disney World has extended theme park hours during the second week of March 2024 for Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
- In a survey conducted by Casino.org, Walt Disney World was ranked as the number one rip-off tourist attraction in the U.S.
- Walt Disney World and Starlight Children’s Foundation held a Disney Princess-themed party for patients at AdventHealth for Children in Orlando.

New Monsters Inc. Ride & Go Seek Helmet and Flashlight Toy Set Coming Soon
A new toy set inspired by Monsters Inc. Ride & Go Seek will be available at Tokyo Disney Resort beginning on March 28, 2024.
Monsters Inc. Ride & Go Seek Toy Set – ¥3,500
The set includes a flashlight and helmet. The flashlight is dark blue featuring the eye symbol from the Monsters Inc. logo. The helmet is a lighter blue with the full “M” logo on a white circle.
Guests can use the toys to play flashlight tag, just like on Monsters, Inc. Ride & Go Seek. One player can hide the helmet and the other can search for it. When you shine the flashlight at the helmet, the Monsters Inc. logo will illuminate, revealing where the helmet is hidden.
The toy set will be available at the Monsters, Inc. Company Store in Tomorrowland at Tokyo Disneyland and in the Emporio at Tokyo DisneySea.
Monsters, Inc. Ride & Go Seek opened at Tokyo Disneyland in 2009, replacing “Meet the World,” a show about the history of Japan that operated from the park’s opening in 1983 to 2002. Monsters, Inc. Ride & Go Seek is a unique ride, but Disney California Adventure has its own Monsters Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue! attraction, which replaced Superstar Limo.
