It’s happening! EPCOT’s 2024 Flower & Garden Festival has officially kicked off!
We’re talking about the Magnolia Terrace booth — one of the Outdoor Kitchens (also known as Food Booths) at the park’s springtime celebration! Stop here while enjoying the Festival’s famous Disney topiaries, garden displays, and entertainment. Join us as we review Magnolia Terrace to see if it lives up to its reputation as a deserving fan-favorite booth once again this year!
Menu
At Magnolia Terrace, many items are returning, but this year also brings us 2 new beers. The menu here is inspired by food from the Gulf region. Three of the four food items here are new and we can’t wait to dig into the Muffuletta Panini, Crawfish Pie, and Bananas Foster Bread Pudding (yes, we’re wiping some drool off as we write this). There’s also a good selection of beers here, including a Beer Flight.
This booth is full of new items, and we can’t wait to dig in!
Eats
First up, we grabbed the Muffuletta Panini with ham, salami, mortadella, provolone, and Swiss with olive salad. This is a returning item from last year, but to be honest, we weren’t big fans. It was VERY HEAVY on the olive salad. So, how does it taste this year? You can grab this tasty dish for $6.25.
This was a great mix of all the ingredients this year — last year it was pretty olive-heavy. The bread is crunchy on the outside but nice and fluffy as you bite through. The meats aren’t too greasy for deli meat, but our main complaint is that the cheese was pretty thick and wasn’t quite melted like it should have been.
Next up, we grabbed the other returning item at this booth, the Spicy Chicken Gumbo with Andouille sausage with long grain & wild rice. This has been a long-term favorite of ours, and we are excited to see how it measures up this year! Grab the Spicy Chicken Gumbo for $6.25.
This had a bit of a kick to it! The chicken was tender, moist, and had a great blackened spice going on as well. The sausage had a nice smokiness and the rice was soft and fluffy. We’ve loved this in the past and this year is no different — it made our Best of the Fest list!
Finally, the Bananas Foster Bread Pudding! Just the idea of these flavors with bread pudding is giving us happy thoughts. Brown sugar + cinnamon + banana = delicious, right? We’ll let’s find out! You can pick one up for $4.75
This is dangerously good. We got a good mix of the banana flavor along with the brown sugar and cinnamon. The bread itself was so soft, that it nearly melted in our mouth. This is definitely a must-try if you like bananas or bread pudding.
And to go along with your dishes…
Drinks
In terms of drinks on this menu, we got the Beer Flight. Why just try one beer when you can try three? The Urban Artifact Capy Snacks Fruit Punch Fruit Ale and the Schneider Weisse LoveBeer Weissbier are new beer options this year. And returning for a repeat appearance this year is the Parish Brewing Co. Ghost in the Machine Double IPA. You can grab this flight for $10.25.
The Urban Artifact Capy Snacks Fruit Punch Fruit Ale was by far the most approachable beer in the flight. It was certainly fruity, but didn’t have that artificial fruit punch flavor you might expect.
The Schneider Weisse LoveBeer Weissbier was on the drier side, but it was still light and would make for a great “walking around” beer. It was also on the fruity side, but more from the traditional flavor of a weissbier than any additional fruit like the Ale.
And finally, the fruity cocktail that we’re pretty sure Mama Odie mastered the recipe for, the Bayou Cocktail. The nectar of the bayou is Spiced rum, coconut rum, fruit punch, and orange juice, and you can grab it for $12.50.
This thing was delicious — but pretty darn sweet! We could definitely taste the rum but it wasn’t overpowering, and we tasted more orange than fruit punch, but both flavors were still present. If you like fruity, rum-based cocktails, you’ll probably enjoy this!
So, is this booth worth a visit?
OVERALL
Magnolia Terrace was a hit for us yet again. That gumbo was so phenomenal and made our Best of the Fest list, so we’d definitely recommend giving it a try. Plus, that bread pudding and Bayou Cocktail are just added bonuses!
