Getting privacy in Disney World is difficult.
This is especially true if you’re hanging out in the parks with hundreds of other guests or relaxing at your hotel pool with, you guessed it, tons of other people. If you want to spend an entire day having fun at a water park on property, you can check out Blizzard Beach currently, but it’ll be closing soon for refurbishment and Typhoon Lagoon will reopen in its place. There IS a place in Typhoon Lagoon where you can find some much-needed privacy and have a great, relaxing day. But is it worth the hefty cost?
At Typhoon Lagoon, which is reopening on March 17th, 2024, if you’re looking for some relative privacy and comfort, you can book a Beachcomber Shack. These are private cabanas that can accommodate up to 10 guests (12 if you’ve booked a Deluxe Shack) and provide you with a comfortable spot to hang out when you’re not riding water slides.
There are three different rankings of Beachcomber Shacks, which range in price from $225 to $500 to book for the full day:
Standard Beachcomber Shacks ($225-$375)
- Attendant service
- Cushioned furniture
- Souvenir refillable mugs, which can be refilled at Disney water parks with free soda and water on the day of your rental
- Locker
- Towels
- Cold water available all day
- Accommodate up to 10 guests
Deluxe Beachcomber Shacks ($300-$450)
- Attendant service
- Cushioned furniture
- Souvenir refillable mugs, which can be refilled at Disney water parks with free soda and water on the day of your rental
- Locker
- Towels
- Cold water available all day
- Accommodate up to 12 guests
Premium Plus Beachcomber Shacks ($375-$500)
- Attendant service
- Souvenir refillable mugs, which can be refilled at Disney water parks with free soda and water on the day of your rental
- Locker
- Towels
- Cold water available all day
- Cushioned seating
- Dining table
- Mini refrigerator
- Flatscreen TV
- Oscillating fan
- 4 electrical outlets
- Accommodate up to 10 guests
At all of these shacks, you’ll find a menu for you to order from whenever you’re hungry.
And don’t worry, your attendant will bring whatever you order to you!
We definitely took advantage of all the snacks and food, and as you can see below, everything was organized and neat, and the dishes came with plenty of sauces to share.
Booking one of these shacks takes away all the stress of finding seating during your water park day, or being worried that your important documents, phones, etc. will be stolen.
Advanced reservations are highly recommended for Beachcomber Shacks, but if you’d like to inquire about same-day availability, head to Singapore Sal’s when you arrive at the water park.
Book your Beachcomber Shack when the park reopens here!
But are the shacks really worth it? It depends! If you’re looking for a super relaxing, worry-free day, they might be totally worth the extra cost. But don’t forget that there’s a lot to do at Typhoon Lagoon and in Disney World in general, so if your goal is to ride all the water rides and explore other parts of the park, then you may not have time to enjoy the private shacks to their fullest potential.
If you’re only staying at Typhoon Lagoon for part of the day, you might want to reconsider this purchase as well, as the shacks are rented for the full day.
