There’s a NEW ride coming to Disney World in 2024!

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is under construction in Magic Kingdom, set to open this summer. This new Princess and the Frog-themed attraction is replacing the former Splash Mountain, and we’ve already seen some sneak peeks at the new animatronics and details that will adorn the mountain. But in the past few days, we got our first look (in person!) at the ride vehicles!

Ride vehicles have been testing recently at Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, and from our video footage, it looks like the Splash Mountain characters have been removed from the front of the logs!

For reference, here’s a photo from before Splash Mountain closed. The logs used to have little figures of Br’er Rabbit attached to the hood. 

Currently, there’s just a blank spot where Br’er Rabbit used to stand. We spotted the vehicles lined up at the bottom of the mountain a few days ago and were able to get a closer look.

Now that the characters have been removed, we’re left wondering if Disney will replace them for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Could we see one of the critters from the new ride at the front of the boats now? Or will the boats remain bare?

We already know that there will be several characters throughout the ride, including some bayou critters and Princess and the Frog friends like Tiana, Naveen, and Louis. Disney recently shared a first look at the new Tiana animatronic. 

The story of the ride will be a sequel to the movie, and you’ll “join Princess Tiana and Louis on a musical adventure – featuring some of the powerful music from the film – as they prepare for their first-ever Mardi Gras performance.”

The height requirement will be 40 inches, and in true Disney fashion, there will be some Splash Mountain Easter eggs throughout the ride as a nod to Tiana’s predecessor. 

We’ll be keeping an eye out for any changes in the coming weeks and months as we get closer to summer. We can’t wait to check out this new ride!
