Even in the Most Magical Place on Earth, sometimes things can still go wrong.
No matter when you visit the parks, it’s always important to be prepared. From missing a reservation to ride malfunctions and even transportation problems, there are multiple ways your trip could go awry. And, folks heading to the Magic Kingdom this morning got to experience that firsthand.
When we arrived at the Transportation and Ticket Center one morning, we made our way over to one of the best forms of Disney World transportation — the ferry boats! But, much to our dismay, there was a problem. The ferry boats weren’t running!

And, it caused a seriously long backup for the monorail line. We spoke with a Cast Member who advised us that there was a problem with the gangplank system causing the ferries to be unable to run. The Cast Member assured us they were working on it and would have things up and running as soon as possible. In the meantime, that monorail line was a thing of nightmares, so we opted to take the bus!

Luckily, when situations like this arise Disney typically has a backup plan (or multiple!) allowing for people to still get to where they’re going. If the ferry boats are down, you still have the buses or monorail to get to Magic Kingdom. For other parks, smaller boats, the Skyliner, and ride share are also options.
