The newly-opened Disney Vacation Club Welcome Center in Disney Springs will not be home to the much-anticipated DVC Member Lounge.
According to journalist Brooke Geiger McDonald, the just-announced space on the second floor of the newly-opened Disney Vacation Club Welcome Home Center, Gateway to Discovery, will not be the same thing as the DVC Member Lounge that was announced on January 2 of this year.
Gateway to Discovery, opened on March 2, and located in the Town Center area of Disney Springs, next door to Francesca’s, will be a welcome center for DVC Members. Opening later this spring, the second-floor space will act as a place for Members and guests to gather.
There is no word on where the upcoming DVC Member Lounge will go at this time, though McDonald noted that details on the lounge would be shared at a later date. For now, the only DVC Member Lounge available is located in EPCOT in the former upstairs ImageWorks at the Imagination pavilion.
When Disney announced the new DVC Member Lounge, they stated:
“Construction on a brand-new Disney Vacation Club Member Lounge will begin in 2024 at Walt Disney World. This will be a great place for members to relax and recharge during their day of fun!”
