This week was a BIG week for EPCOT.
Of course, there is a LOT that happens in each of the Disney World parks every day, but sometimes individual parks tend to get all the spotlight. This was the case for EPCOT, which started its 2024 Flower and Garden Festival this week. You already KNOW we were there and having the time of our lives trying all the springtime sips and savors. Well, we’re taking you with us for a few EPCOT highlights from this week. Let’s go!
Aright, who’s ready for some Flower and Garden Festival?!
We Paid $32.75 for DOLE Whip
At the festival, you can participate in something called Garden Graze.
To participate, you’ll need to buy five of the qualifying food items from festival booths around EPCOT. When you get one of the items, make sure to get your Passport stamped at that booth. Although you only need to eat five of those items, this year’s list includes eight options, so you’ll be able to pick those things that sound best to you!
This year’s Garden Graze items are:
- Bauernmarkt: Farmer’s Market (Germany Pavilion): Potato Pancakes with House-Made Apple Sauce
- BRUNCHCOT (Near Test Track presented by Chevrolet): Avocado Toast with Marinated Tomatoes and Plant-Based Cheese Crumbles on Toasted Ciabatta
- EPCOT Farmers Feast (Near Test Track presented by Chevrolet): Grilled Street Corn on the Cob with Savory Garlic Spread and Plant-Based Cheese
- Florida Fresh (Near Disney Traders): Florida Strawberry Shortcake
- La Isla Fresca (Between the France and Morocco Pavilions): Coconut Tres Leches: Vanilla Cake soaked with Oat, Almond, and Coconut Milks topped with Toasted Coconut
- Refreshment Outpost: Seasonal Fruit Parfait with Sweet Chili Sauce and Mango DOLE Whip®
- Refreshment Port (Near Canada Pavilion): Plant-Based Buffalo Chicken Tender Poutine on Crispy Potato Barrels with Plant-Based Ranch and Blue Cheese Crumbles
- Trowel & Trellis (Near Disney Traders): Impossible Farmhouse Meatball with Lentil Bread, Spinach, Marinated Vegetables and Creamy Herb Aioli
After buying five items, we were able to collect our prize!
It was a DOLE Whip in a souvenir cup with a pack of seeds. Yep, we paid $32.75 for a DOLE Whip and have no regrets.
We Won ANOTHER Prize For Finding BEES
Spike’s Pollen Nation Exploration scavenger hunt takes place throughout EPCOT and lasts for the duration of the festival. The Disney honeybee character named Spike is pollinating his way through the festival, and visitors can follow his trail. You can buy a scavenger hunt map and stickers from World Traveler, Creations Shop, Port of Entry, Disney Traders, and even some of the festival booths!
The map costs $9.99, but you can apply Annual Passholder and Disney Vacation Club discounts. You’ll search for Spike the Bee around EPCOT and place the stickers in the correct spot on the map.
Once your map is complete, you can return it to Creations, World Traveler, Port of Entry, or Disney Traders and collect a prize! Back in 2023, the prize was an array of cups and plates featuring Orange Bird, Spike the Bee, Figment, or Snow White! This year’s prize is even BETTER in our opinion — you get to choose a miniature game of corn hole!
Honestly, this is so cute. 10/10.
Finally, let’s talk about a big CHANGE.
Soarin’ CHANGED This Week!
Soarin’ Over California came BACK to Disney World for a limited-time run to celebrate Disney’s 100th anniversary, but we never guessed it would last this long. Except… we were really sad when it came time to say goodbye. On February 28th, the first day of the Flower and Garden Festival, Soarin’ Around the World was BACK!!
We’re excited that this version of the ride is back, but we’ll miss Soarin’ Over California. If you still want to experience Soarin’ Over California, you can still do so in Disneyland.
