FULL REVIEW: We Just Ate SO. MANY. New Disney World Treats, and It Was Truly a Rollercoaster Ride

What do Te Fiti, Mrs. Incredible, and Princess Tiana all have in common? They’re just a small sample of the many STRONG and powerful females in the Disney cinematic universe. (And we get excited every time we see each of these ICONS in the Disney parks, too!)

Journey of Water

OK, so why are we talking about iconic Disney women? Well, it’s officially Women’s History Month! To celebrate the occasion, Disney is releasing a TON of new treats around the parks and resorts, including cupcakes, shakes, and more! With all these tempting treats to try, it can be hard to decide what’s worth it. Luckily, we’re here to help! Come with us on a snack-filled JOURNEY around Disney World as we try TONS of new Disney treats.

Let’s start our food tour at Magic Kingdom. Over at the Main Street Bakery, you can try the NEW Minnie Mouse Cupcake! This is a chocolate chip cupcake with cheesecake filling topped with chocolate buttercream, chocolate “ears,” and a chocolate bow! You can try it for $5.99, and it will be available through March 31st.

Minnie Mouse Cupcake

Okay, so if you’re a frosting person, this has a VERY fudgy, chocolatey, rich, and creamy frosting (can we just get a cup of this icing, please?). We also thought the chocolate chips inside the cheesecake filling provided a nice little crunch. You get plenty of cheesecake filling, and it gives the cupcake a nice cream cheese flavor.

That frosting!

BUT…the cupcake we got was VERY dry. The whole thing is also exceptionally rich, which might be too much for some people. But we think chocolate lovers will appreciate this treat. If you can handle a lot of SWEET flavor, this cute little cupcake might make a fun treat during your day in Magic Kingdom.

Next stop: EPCOT! We visited Sunshine Seasons to try the Moana Milkshake — an orange cream milkshake with whipped cream, seashells, pearls, and a Moana coin. This one is $8.99, and it’s available through March 31st. Everything worked for this snack. The top is just a colorful Cool Whip, but it’s nice and thick and holds up pretty well.

Moana Milkshake

Did we mention how pretty this shake is?

So pretty!

There is a LOT to get through here, though, but once you make it to the actual shake, it’s got a nice Creamsicle-like flavor. The pearls add a nice crunch, but the starfish, shells, and Moana coin are white chocolate pieces that melt in your mouth.

TASTY!

Would we order this again? YES!!!

Time to head to Connections Eatery for the new Lychee Green Tea! This one is a sweet pomegranate-hibiscus green tea with lychee, lime juice, and pomegranate boba pearls, available for $5.99. You have until March 31st to give this one a try! Even if you’re not a fan of lychee, this drink could convince you otherwise. But honestly, the lychee taste is mild, and most of what you get is the pomegranate and hibiscus flavors.

Lychee Green Tea

All three work well together to create something floral and fruity at the same time (yes, that doesn’t sound like it should even work, but Disney pulled it off).

It’s tasty!

The pomegranate boba petals add a splash of bright flavor here, too.

In case you’re looking for a special coffee to celebrate Women’s History Month, you’ll want to stop by Joffrey’s at The Landing in Disney Springs. For a limited time, you can get a coffee with a Disney princess ripple print!

Of course, we went to visit Disney Springs ourselves, but we went to try the new burger at D-Luxe Burger. It’s the Banh Mi Burger, made with a D-Luxe Special Blend Patty, Hoisin Pork Belly, Jalapeño Jam, Napa Cabbage Slaw, and Cilantro with a House-made Bun for $14.49. Now, this is a LOT like the Banh Mi Burger we tried last year at Sci-Fi Dine-In, which we LOVED. So, how does this one compare?

Banh Mi Burger

This is a seasonal burger, and it’s one of the reasons we will keep coming back to D-Luxe. The burgers here are consistently good, but this one is elevated by the addition of pork belly, slaw, cilantro, and jalapeño jam, which is what makes it a Banh Mi sandwich. The high-quality pork belly is thick, which made us feel like were getting our money’s worth with this burger.

SO good

The veggies, which are SO important in a Banh Mi sandwich, did not disappoint. The slaw added freshness and acidity to cut the fat of the pork burger and pork belly. But the REAL hero of this sandwich is the jalapeño jam because it just ties everything together. It wasn’t a heavy flavor, but it helped meld the sweet and spicy flavors. It’s not SUPER spicy, so don’t let that keep you from trying it (unless you’re completely spice-averse).

We also made our way over to Amorette’s Patisserie to try the new Mardi Gras Petit Cake. It’s made with layers of chiffon, cinnamon cream cheese mousse, bourbon-caramel mousse, and salted praline crunch. Like almost EVERYTHING that Amorette’s creates, it’s also got some gorgeous details, but the best part might be the framed photo of Tiana and Lottie on top! ❤❤❤We also love the bead necklaces that drip down the sides of the cake.

Mardi Gras Petit Cake

The sponge on the chiffon cake is light and airy. The vanilla buttercream underneath the purple fondant is more battery than sugary, which is a nice balance of frosting that we really enjoy. However, we weren’t entirely sure why it’s vanilla buttercream because, with all those other rich flavors, it almost seems like a salted caramel or cinnamon would’ve worked better. We did taste each element separately, and we thought each flavor fell flat. However, when you mix it all together, it creates something nice.

Lots going on inside

We would’ve liked it better if the bourbon, caramel, and cinnamon flavors were more spread throughout the cake. We’ll say that it’s good, but it’s not the best cake we’ve had at Amorette’s. It is, however, pricey for how little you get, at $22, so it feels like you’re paying an upcharge just for some pretty Instagram photos.

In the meantime, we’re always on the lookout for the latest Disney news, so stay tuned for more.
