Blackwells Capital Reportedly Suing Disney Over “Inappropriately Cozy” Relationship with ValueAct Capital

Blackwells Capital is reportedly suing Disney over an “inappropriately cozy” relationship with ValueAct Capital, another investor in The Walt Disney Company, according to Deadline. The lawsuit filed by Blackwells calls out concerns of ValueAct being paid to take a pro-Disney position in the ongoing proxy fight with activists like Nelson Peltz’s Trian Group. At Disney’s […]

Steakhouse 71 Removes Refillable Mimosa from Breakfast Menu

Steakhouse 71, located inside of Disney’s Contemporary Resort, has gotten rid of their refillable mimosa breakfast option.

Steakhouse 71 entrance

We first were tipped off to the change when a reader sent WDWNT an email explaining that the refillable mimosas were not available during a recent visit. The email read as follows:

“Just got back from a visit to Steakhouse 71 for breakfast and was disappointed to find out bottomless mimosas are no longer on the menu.”

Steakhouse 71 refillable mimosa

On March 28, we went to Steakhouse 71 and got confirmation from restaurant staff that the refillable mimosas had in fact been removed from the menu. The breakfast beverage option that cost $19 and was described as “Mas Fi Cava Brut Sparkling Wine and Orange Juice,” does not appear on the Steakhouse 71 menu.

Steakhouse 71, formerly The Wave… of American Flavors, was renovated in 2021. the 71 in the name references the opening year of both Walt Disney World and Disney’s Contemporary Resort. We visited Steakhouse 71 for a breakfast review back when it first opened and the refillable mimosa, which was a carryover from The Wave, was the stand-out beverage for us.

Are you disappointed to see the refillable mimosa disappear from the Steakhouse 71 menu? Let us know in the comments below.

New Glow-in-the-Dark Loungefly Three Caballeros Ear Headband at Disneyland Resort

Disneyland Resort has a new glow-in-the-dark Loungefly mouse ear headband inspired by the Three Caballeros and the Mexico Pavilion of EPCOT.

We found the ears at The Mad Hatter on Main Street, U.S.A.

Three Caballeros Ear Headband – $44.99

Loungefly Three Caballeros ear headband

The ears and headband are covered in black pleather. The inside of the headband is lined in black velour.

bow and guitar charm

The bow in the center features several stripes in a gradient of purple, yellow, orange, red, and green. A red guitar charm is in the center.

Three Caballeros on ear

The Three Caballeros — Donald Duck, Panchito Pistoles, and Jose Carioca — are pictured on the front of the right ear. They’re riding a flying carpet, as seen in “The Three Caballeros” and the Mexico Pavilion’s Gran Fiesta Tour ride. White music notes and stars are around the trio.

Fireworks on ear

The front of the other ear features yellow, red, green, and white fireworks. Music notes and stars also surround them. At the end of Gran Fiesta Tour at EPCOT, “fireworks” light up the ceiling above riders in the final scene.

Disney x Loungefly plaque on headband

A metal plaque attached to one side of the headband features the Disney and Loungefly wordmarks. The plaque is black with silver lettering.

Mexico on ear headband

“Mexico” is printed on the other side of the headband in green, white, and red — the colors of the country’s flag.

Back of Three Caballeros ears

The bow has a snap on the back making it removable.

"Saludos Amigos" on back of ear

“¡Saludos Amigos!” is in white lettering on the back of the left ear. “Saludos Amigos” was the name of the Disney film that came before “The Three Caballeros” and introduced Jose. It translates to “Greetings friends.”

Fireworks, music notes, and stars are also around the phrase.

Mexico temple and Aracuan Bird on ear

A blue version of the Mexico Pavilion temple inspired by the real-life Temple of the Feathered Serpent in Teotihuacan is on the back of the right ear. Above it is a yellow crescent moon and more white music notes. The pink bird with a striped shirt flying next to the temple is the Aracuan Bird from “The Three Caballeros.”

Back of Three Caballeros ears glowing in the dark

The stars, music notes, fireworks, moon, and words glow in the dark.

There’s one Disney Vacation Club resort that we absolutely adore, but have not yet reviewed because we’ve been not-so-patiently awaiting its long-overdue room renovations. With the updated refurbishment calendar out and showing that won’t happen until 2025 at the earliest, it’s time for a quick look at the Villas at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel (VGC) […]
