After 2 years, it looks like Universal Studios Florida may finally be getting a new parade. Universal’s Superstar Parade was permanently closed back in June of 2022 to make way for a new experience, but things have remained quiet until now. Universal Orlando Resort is casting performers, including dancers and stilt walkers for a new seasonal “live street experience” — possibly the rumored Universal Mega Movie summer parade.

Universal Seeking Dancers, Animated Performers, and Stilt Walkers

Universal Orlando Resort is seeking dancers with strong jazz technique, “animated” performers to play costumed characters, and stilt walkers with movement ability.

They are accepting online submissions through April 9, 2024. Rehearsals will be from May to July and performers must be available for four-hour shifts on performance dates from July through mid-November.

The rumored summer Universal Mega Movie Parade and Tribute Store will be inspired by classic films like “Ghostbusters” and “Jaws.” The former is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year and may have a dedicated room in the Tribute Store.

The height ranges for animated performers are 4’7”-5’6” and 5’8”- 6’1”. Stilt walkers should be between 5’8″ and 6′. There are no height requirements for dancers.

All performers must provide a headshot, resume, full-length photo in athletic wear, and an audition video link.

Dancers must perform 32 counts of an upbeat technical jazz or musical theater routine. Animated performers and stilt walkers must do a 360-degree turn with their arms out. Stilt walkers should also explain their stilt walking experience and may be invited to a callback to demonstrate their abilities.

EPCOT Farmers Feast at the 2024 EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival has a new menu available from March 31 through the end of the festival on May 27. The Grilled Street Corn on the Cob has remained but the new additions are Seared Scallop and Blueberry Buckle.

Seared Scallop and Blueberry Buckle replace the previously available Veal Loin and Strawberry Rhubarb Upside-Down Cake.

Seared Scallop – $7.75

with Tomato Risotto featuring Ben’s Original International Grains Arborio Rice and Tomato Beurre Blanc

The scallop was flavorful and prepared perfectly. It paired well with the risotto and its delectable sauce. We ate every bite. We wish it had a larger portion since there is only one scallop, leaving us hungry for more.

Blueberry Buckle – $4.75

with Lemon Crème Fraiche

The best way we can describe a “Blueberry Buckle” is that it’s a coffee cake with blueberries inside and a generous portion of blueberries on the side. This was a home run. The crumble topping reminded us of streusel with a delicious brown sugar and butter taste. Its texture was the perfect contrast to the rest of the dish. Again, we wanted more.
