Five(ish) Fun Facts About Pixar’s “Luca”

Disney-Pixar’s Luca is one of the unfortunate casualties of the COVID pandemic. The film – which finished production during the pandemic – was released while the world was still in the throes of COVID-caused lockdown conditions. The film was released directly to Disney+ in the U.S. on June 18, 2021, foregoing a traditional run in […]

Ride Testing Signs Installed at Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Magic Kingdom

Crews installed new signs at Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Magic Kingdom overnight. The signs tell guests that the ride is testing and not yet open.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Ride Testing Signs

Signs around Tiana's Bayou Adventure flume loop

There are three signs, all with the same design, around the loop of the flume at the bottom of the drop. The signs feature Louis the alligator, who will be a major character in Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. The design also matches the Mardi Gras posters on the construction walls.

A close-up of the ride testing sign.

The sign reads:

Sorry, friends,

We are ride testing only.

Opening this summer!

Despite the signs, the ride was not actively testing on Friday morning. It was a rainy day in Central Florida so if testing was planned, it may have been delayed.

Disney began testing water at the attraction in early February. The flume was periodically filled and emptied. Refurbished Splash Mountain log ride vehicles then arrived on site.

Guests caught Disney testing the ride vehicles on the ride’s drop with water dummies. The logs also have new lap bars.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Construction

There haven’t been many changes to the rest of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure since our Thursday construction update. Some more real and realistic plants have been installed around the attraction.

Plants around Tiana's Foods water tower

Ferns and flowers surround the fake trees in front of the mountain-turned-salt-mine. We confirmed a few weeks ago that the briar patch was completely demolished to become a Louisiana bayou.

Tiana's Bayou Adventure mill

Due to the weather, there weren’t many crew members outside, but we heard work going on inside the ride. We also spotted a change on the side of the water mill.

Mill windows

Windows matching the new window panes of the queue’s barn have been installed on the mill. The barn window was uncovered on Thursday for the first time. We also have photos of the barn window further down in this article.

Crews have installed more red flowers or peppers on the façade. We spotted the first of these plants a few weeks ago.

Flowers on Tiana's Bayou Adventure

They’re hard to identify at a distance but peppers are featured on Tiana’s Foods signage on the construction walls representing the co-op’s line of hot sauces. In a potential connection to Tiana’s Bayou Adventures, peppers returned to the Native American village on Rivers of America last fall.

A yellow lantern behind the construction walls glowed brightly in the gloomy weather.

Frontierland train station construction walls

We also heard crew members working behind construction walls at the Frontierland train station. Crews are refurbishing the station’s stairs during work on the Tiana’s Bayou Adventure queue. But it sounded like they were working on the former site of the Laughin’ Place play area.

We could see some crew members working inside the barn.

They were visible through the window.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is scheduled to open this summer at Magic Kingdom.
