New Seating Area Now Open at Harambe Market in Disney’s Animal Kingdom

A new seating area by Harambe Market in Disney’s Animal Kingdom is now open.

Seating Area Now Open in Harambe Market

Harambe Market seating area exterior

After nine months of construction, the new seating area is opened in the Africa section of the park. It is across from the quick service location, Harambe Market, and directly to the left of the Malimwengu Guest House building. It can be easily spotted thanks to its thatched roof.

The seating area provides a covered place for guests to eat, which will come in handy as the Florida weather heats up and summer storms touch down.

The area, beginning from before you enter the open-air seating portion, has been themed to match the rest of the Africa section of the park, with posted advertisements that look like they’ve been there for ages.

The fencing around the seating area has been carved with small details. The aged look of the materials blends nicely with the rest of the Harambe Village theming.

Some new greenery has been added to the exterior.

Entering the covered area, you’ll see that it adds a lot of seating options for guests who may have picked up a bite to eat at Harambe Market, Tamu Tamu Refreshments, or Zuri’s Sweets Shop.

String lights and lanterns hang from the ceiling to add to the ambiance. There are also a few fans.

The tables and chairs here are pretty simple, with the chairs sporting a woven cushion design that suits the area.

NEW Haunted Mansion Bicoastal Adventures Pin Arrives at Disneyland Resort

The latest pin in the “Bicoastal Adventures” series has made its way to Disneyland Resort, following its release at Walt Disney World. Each pin in this collection celebrates an attraction that exists at both domestic Disney Parks, with the previous two honoring Space Mountain and Soarin’. The new pin for this month pays homage to the Haunted Mansion.

We found the pin for sale at TomorrowLanding in Disneyland Park.

Limited Edition Haunted Mansion Bicoastal Adventures Pin – $19.99

A reporter's hand holds the Bicoastal Adventures Haunted Mansion pin on its backing card.

This pin in the Bicoastal Adventures set is a limited edition of 4,000. Like the other pins in the collection, this has a green frame with a black Mickey ear hat sitting at the top. A blue Disneyland “D” flag and a red Walt Disney World “D” flag sit on either side of the ears.

Inside the frame, a slider featuring the purple wallpaper from the Haunted Mansion reads, “Welcome Foolish Mortals.” The three Hitchhiking Ghosts can be seen on the right side of the frame.

The purple slider can be moved left or right to reveal the mansions found on both coasts. Above, the Disneyland Park version of the attraction’s facade is shown.

PHOTOS: Universal Monsters ‘Tribute Store’ Takes Over Production Central at Universal CityWalk Hollywood

The Universal Monsters have taken over Production Central at Universal CityWalk Hollywood in the West Coast version of a “Tribute Store.”

Universal Monsters Tribute Store

Production Central with Universal Monsters Tribute Store overlay

Production Central has previously acted as a Tribute Store for Halloween Horror Nights. It’s not as highly themed as the Universal Studios Florida Tribute Stores but still features cool set pieces and props.

The archway around the store’s entrance is green and rippled like dark ocean waves.

Universal Monsters Production Central marquee

The marquee behind the Production Central sign features an image of the Creature from the Black Lagoon, the Bride of Frankenstein, Frankenstein’s Monster, Dracula, and the Wolfman.

Mummy area of Universal Monsters store

Immediately upon entering, guests will encounter a sarcophagus to the left. This corner has sandstone walls resembling an Egyptian tomb with wooden crates as the cash wrap. It’s reminiscent of the Mummy.

Woods in Monsters store

To the right are gray, leafless trees. One is almost life-size and another sits on top of a merchandise display. Printed silhouettes of dead trees are on the walls.

Tree, rock, outdoors props

The tree on the merchandise display appears to be growing over moss, rocks, and a box. There is also a rope and a vintage flashlight.

The woods seemingly represent the Wolfman and the Creature. All of the merchandise features Universal Monsters, too. We’ve previously reported on this Universal Monsters merchandise.

Frankenstein's lab tech

The next corner is clearly inspired by Frankenstein’s lab. It has stone walls with various baubles, skulls, and vintage technology — like this Zenith radio.

A wall display covered in mysterious equipment and other ephemera.

Shelves on the walls are covered in mysterious equipment and bottles. Chains hang between the shelves.

Dracula corner of Monsters store

The last section also features stone walls, but more Gothic architecture in the form of archways around displays and doors. There is a circular black iron chandelier hanging from the ceiling. Red candles are mounted on the walls.

Dracula props

This space is inspired by Dracula. Atop one set of shelves are black and red books, dying flowers, and more skulls.

We recently shared the first speculation map for Halloween Horror Nights 2024 at Universal Studios Hollywood.

Universal Studio Tour Gets Retro Glamor Tram Makeover for 60th Anniversary, Some Scenes Closed for Updates

The World-Famous Studio Tour at Universal Studios Hollywood is preparing to celebrate its 60th anniversary this summer. Universal is wrapping the tour’s trams to look like the Glamor Trams of the 1960s. Some scenes are also currently closed while they receive updates.

Universal Studio Tour Glamor Trams

Universal Studios Tour Glamor Tram wrap

The Universal Studio Tour opened on July 15, 1964, with “Glamor Trams.” The modern-day trams have been redressed with red and white wraps to look like the retro Glamor Trams.

A closer look at the Glamor Tram

They have red and white-striped awnings and “Universal Studios Glamor Tram” on the side.

As of this weekend, only two of the trams have been re-dressed. One was in use for the tour and another was being used for training. Our tour guide said all the diesel trams would be wrapped soon — seemingly implying the electric trams introduced a few years ago would not be wrapped.

Set Updates

The Studio Tour is currently skipping the famous Earthquake section while it is refurbished for the 60th anniversary. It’s set to reopen sometime this spring.

Back of War of the Worlds facades

The tour is also taking a detour around the Bates Motel and “War of the Worlds” set. We instead got to see the backs of the “War of the Worlds” house façades.

The back of the "War of the Worlds" set.

Our tour guide said these sets were being remodeled for the anniversary. Guests can still crane their necks to see the Bates Motel.

We didn’t see any active work in the area during our tour — although it can be hard to tell what’s fake wreckage and what’s potential construction or demolition on the “War of the Worlds” set.

More of the "War of the Worlds" set.

Our tour guide said “Earthquake” would be back soon and that the tour would get limited-time extra enhancements for the spring and summer.

Universal has not yet announced or confirmed any updates. Stay tuned for more information.

Festival of Fantasy Parade, Disney Adventure Friend Cavalcade Schedules to Change for Spring Season

The schedules are changing for Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade and Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade at Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World.

Festival of Fantasy Parade and Disney Adventure Friend Cavalcade Schedule Changes

With the high crowds of spring break season coming to an end, Magic Kingdom is dropping down its Festival of Fantasy parade showtimes from two shows a day to just one. According to the official Walt Disney World calendar, The parade will have just one show per day at 3 p.m., starting April 7.

Festival of Fantasy Parade "Princess and the Frog" float

The change is common, as Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade often goes back and forth with the number of parades it runs per day. From January 16 to February 17 this year, the park had one Festival of Fantasy performance per day. Then, beginning February 18, the parade went back up to two performances.

Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade

Because of the schedule change, the Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade will also shift performance times, going from 5:10 p.m. and 6:25 p.m. showings to 10:30 a.m. and 11:45 a.m. These changes will be in effect through at least May 4.

Will your Walt Disney World vacation be impacted by these changes? Let us know in the comments below.
