Take a tour of the all-new DVC Welcome Center, Gateway to Discovery, which opened on March 2 in Disney Springs at Walt Disney World.
Guests can find the DVC Welcome Home Center, Gateway to Discovery, in the Town Center area of Disney Springs. It is located in the former space of the Alex and Ani retail location, which closed this January. It’s next door to Francesca’s and across from both Frontera Cocina and the Disney Springs Welcome Center.
Upon entering, guests are met with a large rotating globe. The left and right walls of the space highlight different aspects of Disney Vacation Club, with screens and interactive elements. Straight back, there are two resort models.
Starting on the left wall is a section dedicated to Disney’s Rivera Resort. The screen plays a highlights reels of the resort’s features.
An interactive lift-the-flap quiz themed to Riviera Resort is toward the bottom.
Next on the wall is an area for Disney Cruise Line. A ship’s wheel can be spun, revealing the Disney Cruise Line ship’s name and its corresponding stern character.
There’s also a poster previewing Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure, which can be found on the Disney Wish.
Moving along is another screen playing DVC highlights and a booklet with different DVC properties.
Guests can then find an interactive door that transports them to different Disney Vacation Club locations.
The door is triggered via a touch screen at the right. Guests can tap Disney’s Riviera Resort, The Villas at Disneyland Resort, or Disney Collection. Once one is selected, the door opens, revealing a video of the chosen destination.
Moving toward the back wall, there is a model of Disney’s Riviera Resort.
Here’s a closer look at the detailed model.
Along the back wall is a mural of Mickey Mouse painting a picture of Minnie Mouse as she poses beside him in front of Disney’s Riviera Resort.
There is also a model room that can be found at the Disneyland Hotel.
Moving on to the right wall, there is a section for the Villas at Disneyland Hotel. Here, there is another interactive quiz about the resort.
Next, you’ll find an area for National Geographic Expeditions.
There’s a massive Mickey Mouse display on the right side of the room. Right next to him, you’ll find a small seating area.
Like the walls surrounding it, the central globe highlights all of the DVC offerings, from resort hotels, to National Geographic Expeditions, to Disney Cruise Line, and finally, Adventures by Disney.
“Pinned” to the globe are all of the different travel destinations guests can visit using Disney Vacation Club.
