Ahead of this summer’s opening of the DVC Cabins at Fort Wilderness Resort, site preparation is now underway to ready for the new structures to be loaded in.
Site Prep Begins for DVC Cabins at Fort Wilderness
While visiting the campground at Fort Wilderness, we spotted one future Disney Vacation Club (DVC) cabin site cleared and ready to go for its new installation in the 2000 block.
The driveway into what will eventually be space for the new cabin is currently blocked with a plastic, green project team fence.
The area for the new DVC cabin has been marked off with yellow cones on steel pipes. A red flag on a wooden dowel sticks out of the ground off to the right. Two large wooden poles stick up and out from the driveway.
We saw a second spot ready for move-in in the 2200 lot.
The site is prepped the same as the spot above, with yellow cones and two large wooden rods emerging from the driveway.
Projected to open on July 1, 2024, The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort will be the newest DVC property at Walt Disney World. Interested guests can become a Disney Vacation Club member at the resort now, and begin booking their stays starting March 21.
Introducing The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort—the newest Disney Vacation Club Resort—set within a forest oasis of cypress and pine. Retreat to your own private cabin featuring plenty of modern amenities and charming, convenient comforts. Wake up to the buzzing of life and its endless fun, from poolside relaxation to fishing excursions to fireside sing-a-longs. And create cherished family memories, nestled in the magic of nature. As a Disney Vacation Club Member, you can save on future Disney accommodations—including The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort—as you enjoy vacations, near and far, year after year.
Once open, the Cabins will be the first pet-friendly DVC resort. We got our first look at the layout of the cabins in January 2024, followed by details inside in February — which include references to the now-defunct Disney’s River Country water park.
Some of the old log-style Fort Wilderness cabins are now being sold on Facebook.
