Take a look inside the new Power Up Cafe at Universal Studios Hollywood.
Power Up Cafe
Power Up Cafe is a newly opened snack location inside Universal Studios Hollywood. Located on the Upper Lot on New York Street, the cafe opened on February 15, 2024, in celebration of the one-year anniversary of Super Nintendo World, which opened on February 17, 2023.
The exterior fits into the New York City street aesthetic. Graffiti on the brick wall above features four of the most iconic Super Mario power up options: Super Star, 1-Up Mushroom, Fire Flower, and Super Mushroom. They are all highlighted in the food and beverages found inside Power Up Cafe.
The quick service location’s sign is done in the traditional Super Mario font, with a Question Block below it. A print featuring various objects found in Super Mario games runs across the upper section of the exterior.
The left side of the building has a Super Star neon sign in the window and a sign with available food items.
The right side of the building has an exit, and a window with a Fire Flower neon sign.
There’s a sign outside of the building letting guests know that mobile food and drink ordering is available. Now, let’s head inside.
The theming continues with Super Stars (that are available to purchase as a popcorn bucket) and a Question Block light in this corner of the quick service location.
Guests can get a look at the menu if they choose not to use the mobile ordering option.
The location offers snacks, collectible items, and drinks as an alternative to Toadstool Cafe, that’s inside of Super Nintendo World. The options are:
- Super Star Popcorn Cup – $7
- Super Star Collectable Popcorn Bucket – $39.99
- Super Mushroom Calzone – $13
- 1-Up Mushroom Calzone – $13
- Fire Flower Pretzel – $13
- Super Mushroom Collectible Drink Sipper – $20
- 1-Up Collectible Drink Sipper – $20
- Fountain Drink – $4.75
- Premium Water – $5.50
For drinks, guests can choose from four items, each $13:
- Super Mushroom Fizz
- 1-Up Mushroom Fizz
- Fire Flower Fizz
- Super Star Fizz
There’s a separate section for those making a pickup.
The walls are themed with a number of details that Super Mario fans will recognize. Here, there is a Warp Pipe, Yoshi’s Egg, a Red Koopa Shell, a Question Block, and a Super Star.
On this wall, a large Piranha Plant neon light emerges from a Warp Pipe. There is also a Fire Flower, Super Mushroom, Super Star, and Question Block.
