Mint Julep Bar at Disneyland Park has a new snack: Ube Mickey-Shaped Beignets. This seasonal spin on the classic Mickey snack is dusted with ube powdered sugar.
Mint Julep Bar is located in New Orleans Square at Disneyland Park, and can be found behind Tiana’s Palace and just a short walk from the land’s station for the Disneyland Railroad.
Ube Mickey-shaped Beignets – $5.99 (3-pack) or $9.49 (6-pack)
These are interesting. We like the flavor and the cute pink color. They aren’t overly sweet and remind us of similar Japanese desserts.
Ube is a purple yam native to Southeast Asia. There’s a subtle and light ube aftertaste that pairs nicely with the sweet beignet.
Unfortunately, our pastries were stale, weirdly bloated, and hollow. It seems a different process is used to make the seasonal beignets than the traditional ones.
We wish they had just put the ube powder on a normal Mickey-shaped beignet because that would have likely turned out better.
We were disappointed in the ube Mickey-shaped beignets and had to give them a low rating. We’re not sure if we would get these again.
