As the Disney Treasure gears up for its first sailing, statues of Nick and Judy from “Zootopia” are being worked on for Jumbeaux’s Sweets.
Jumbeaux’s Sweets Statues on Disney Treasure
Disney Cruise Line has revealed progress on the statues of both Officer Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde that will be inside Jumbeaux’s Sweets on the Disney Treasure.
First announced in September of 2023 during the reveal of the Disney Treasure, Jumbeaux’s Sweets, inspired by Jumbeaux Café from Disney’s animated film “Zootopia,” will be a dessert destination on the ship. The Treasure will set sail for the first time this December.
In the newly-released images, Imagineer Jay Abruzzese is seen adding the finishing touches to the statues. Disney notes that they will soon be ready to be installed inside Jumbeaux’s Sweets. The first-of-its-kind dessert shop will be located in the same spot as Inside Out: Joyful Sweets on the Disney Wish.
The statues began as sketched designs and a collaboration with Walt Disney Imagineering and Walt Disney Animation to create digital models of the statues. The measurements from the digital models were then used to cast the statues in bronze before being transported to Florida to be painted.
In the above concept art, you can get an idea of where Nick and Judy will end up when the location is complete. The location will be covered in bubblegum pink-striped wallpaper and include vintage-style light fixtures; each decor element serves to transport guests into the world of “Zootopia.”
