The TARDIS from “Doctor Who” has materialized on the Disneyland Resort esplanade near Downtown Disney District ahead of the show’s upcoming season premiere on Disney+.

The TARDIS (Time And Relative Dimensions In Space) is an old blue British police box. The spaceship/time machine was designed to change forms to blend in with its surroundings — but got stuck as a police box early on in the Doctor’s adventures.

Disney and the BBC announced in 2022 that the series would begin airing on Disney+. The first episodes to stream on the service were last year’s 60th anniversary specials. A holiday special, starring Ncuti Gatwa as the latest incarnation of the Doctor, then premiered on Christmas.

As a sign at the TARDIS photo op states, the next season will premiere with two episodes on Disney+ (and BBC iPlayer) on May 10. It will air on BBC One on May 11.

In addition to Gatwa as the current Doctor, the next season of “Doctor Who” (known as series 14 or season 1) also stars Millie Gibson as his new companion, Ruby Sunday. Jemma Redgrave, Bonnie Langford, and Yasmin Finney will reprise their roles as Kate Stewart, Mel Bush, and Rose Noble respectively. Other actors appearing this season include Jonathan Groff, Jinkx Monsoon, and Indira Varma.

It will have eight episodes premiering through June 22, with most episodes written by Russell T. Davies, who is returning as showrunner. Kate Herron and Briony Redman wrote one episode, and former showrunner Steven Moffat wrote one. Julie Anne Robinson, Ben Chessell, Dylan Holmes Williams, and Jamie Donoughue direct.
